Hotel Snaefellsnes - formally Hotel Rjukandi

"Friendly and convenient location if you are exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. It is more like an upscale motel room with a great dining room. All rooms are ground floor, and you enter them from an external walkway. Breakfast was delish - homemade bread and jam, skyr, fruit, hard boiled eggs, lox, ham, cheese, pastries, and coffee/tea (probably forgetting some things). The staff were wonderful - very friendly, down to earth, and hardworking people. They kindly held my luggage before check-in so I could explore, then accommodated a late check-in at 9 pm (I called ahead to make a plan with them). Amenities are basic (bring your own conditioner). Room was comfortable and warm but not too hot in late September. This area is amazing, and the hotel location cannot be beat."

"The cottage we stayed at was clean and absolutely adorable. It had bright but cozy vibes. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. We were only there for one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The northern lights were easily seen from the location with the low light pollution."

"Cute historic building, very well maintained and clean with a lot of thoughtful amenities. Everything is clearly labelled and check-in instructions are clear and easy - just make sure your phone has battery. Amenities that were thoughtful are a kitchen with specific drawer and fridge to leave food for future guests, an "honesty" fridge where you can buy snacks/drinks and just pay at the machine at the front desk, and flyers for things to do in the area. They also provided me with a 2200 ISK voucher for Valeria which was super sweet! My room was spotless, as were all common areas. The shower was really nice with good water pressure and my bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning. There's a patio at the end of the hall upstairs with a perfect view of Kirkjufell. The town of Grundarfjordur is also very charming and I would have loved to spend longer there. Beautiful guesthouse in a perfect location! I hope to be back one day."

"The room was very comfortable & clean. The description of the property says there is a bar/lounge. There is no bar/lounge on site, which was disappointing after traveling. I was expecting to grab some food when we arrived. There is a restaurant close by, but only open for breakfast and a few hours for dinner. There were only a few restaurants in the area and some food trucks. The staff was very helpful."
