Like a time-warp from the 1960's, steep, narrow stairs with no lift, no porterage, never anybody on reception, generally poor lighting, many lounge bulbs out, no USB ports and seemingly well under-staffed. Having said that, it did what it said on the tin. The location was perfect for us visiting family in the area, the breakfast adequate, the rooms were serviced daily and it would have ben considered top-of-the-range about 1963. You get what you pay for.

Great stay, Anna was lovely and very helpful. Rooms are basic but clean, breakfast was good, a good choice. Easy access to buses everywhere, pubs with food options within easy walking distance. St Aubin is a 2 min ride away and has lots of restaurants. St Hellier is a 15min bus journey Great stay.

Definitely worth considering.

The manager Anna, was very accommodating, and changed my room without me asking because of my height. And gave me one with a larger bed. A cooked traditional English breakfast was available, with cereals, toast, orange juice, tea and coffee. Tea and coffee was always in the bedroom. And was cleaned every day. Overall a good place to stay.

Perfect location right on top of the bus stop if using public transport. Short walk into St Albans and a lovely longer beach walk into St Helier. Fab value for money, comfortable and clean.

Easy access to regular buses. Very clean, rooms were cleaned every day. Nice dining room for breakfast and comfortable lounge to relax in. I would have liked an occasional choice of cooked breakfast as well as continental.. We enjoyed our stay at the Southwold.

A cozy B&B at a very reasonable price with a beach right opposite the property. The lady who runs the B&B is very kind and polite and knows what she is doing. The breakfast which is included in the fare is a good English breakfast with unlimited bread and cereal, juice and tea coffee. There is a coop close to the property which allows you to get groceries. If you're looking for beach facing restaurants then it's about a 20-25 minute walk or a couple minute drive. In all, for the price, an absolutely worth it stay.

Well run Guest House

Anna is amazing without her this place would not function. Its not an easy establisment to run due to its age and needs updating inside. That said the breakfast is great and the rooms kept incredibly clean. The road is noisy but is to be expected being on a main road. The location is great for both coast and country and St Helier with parking outside its brilliant.

Perfect accommodation for a short break

Lovely accommodation in a great location for getting around the island. Breakfast was basic but was a good start for the day. Room was clean and comfortable with everything you needed. Prompt at replying to messages and we were able to keep our room on for the day which was very helpful. Would definitely recommend and next time visiting Jersey would stay again at Seawold

Seawold splendor

Had a lovely stay, a very nice guest house with all you need for a stay. Lovely shared lounge where you can eat and use the fridge , glasses, plates and cutlery. Towels for use for the beach as well as for in the room. Lovely seating area outside the front. A lot of traffic at front of guest house slept with windows open and was very soothing and meditative. Such a great location for the beach, walks, shop and buses. Anna is a lovely host and is so accommodating.

The perfect base for those exploring Jersey

We had a very nice stay, Anna was very attentive and was the perfect host. Breakfasts were good with plenty of fresh food to chose from. Our room was a little bit dated, we had to wait a few minutes for the hot water to warm up and our toilet needed more than one flush. But overall, it was the perfect place to stay and to go out exploring the lovely island of Jersey from. Conveniently situated near restaurants, pubs etc and excellent for a long walk along St Aubins Bay. Thank you Anna for making our 7 night break so enjoyable xx

We enjoyed our stay and the host was lovely.

We spent 3 nights at this guest house and loved it. Anna, the host, was courteous and helpful. We arrived in Jersey on an early-morning flight and checked with Anna if we could leave our luggage there. She kindly offered to let us check in at 10am as there was a room available. We had a family room which was comfortable and clean. The neighbourhood was quiet and safe. The guest house is 3 min walk to Goose, a lovely local pub where we had dinner twice and loved it. The internet speed in our room was extremely fast and the guest house has a spacious lounge area with games and books provided. The guest house is literally across from the beach and conveniently located on a bus/cycling route between St Helier and Saint Aubin. It takes around 20 min to go to the airport by bus. There’s nothing to complain and full English breakfast is included so good value for money overall.

As a place to sleep after a busy day, this hotel serves its purpose. The staff were lovely and couldnt have worked any harder but the hotel is let down by its appearance. It is almost like stepping back in time as the rooms are so dated. There was very little power in the shower and the room I stayed in only had the one main ceiling light - no lamps or reading lights for night-time.

We had a 4 night stay, the room was very clean with 2 single beds, plenty of drawers and wardrobe space, bathroom with shower (hot water took a little while to come through but was very warm) There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a small TV. We both enjoyed a very nice continental breakfast each morning from 8.00am (although because we were going out earlier we managed to get a slightly earlier brekkie) The host was very accommodating for us as we had to return for an extra night due to a cancelled flight. The location was perfect as it was a mile walk into St Aubin with lots of amenities and only a 2+mile walk along the seafront into the capital St Helier. There was a very nice local restaurant only 5 mins walk away and a lot of other smaller eating places in the seafront both directions. The local buses stopped virtually outside in both directions for trips a bit further afield. The war tunnels were also only a mile walk away. A very enjoyable short break

Great stay overall but properly now a bit tired

Not my first visit to this pleasant, friendly and very clean B&B and hopefully not my last as it suits my holiday needs. The location is perfect: a bus stop yards away on the route between the airport and St Helier, the beach across the road and a 4-minute stroll along the prom to the nearest café with spectacular views over the bay. A big plus is the spacious lounge with a guests' fridge - very handy if you don't fancy eating out every night. However not all is perfect. The property exterior is beginning to look shabby with peeling window frames and ripped cushions on the patio furniture. The interior is stuck in the 80's and would benefit from a refurb and in my case a (long overdue) mattress change. Also the full English breakfast is no more, replaced by Continental which personally I think is a shame. But most of the negatives I'm prepared to overlook because I like the manager Anna who is hard-working, friendly and nice.

I wish I had listened to the reviews more. We stayed here for a few nights whilst visiting Jersey for the first time just wanting a clean and comfortable place to stay. To say the hotel was not up to standard would be an understatement. Upon arrival at the hotel, we waited a while to be seen (even though we arrived at check in time) and during the stay we hardly saw the owner however expressed our disappointment when we did see her. We informed her that the shower had no water pressure and that the shower was literally falling apart and masking tape had been used in an attempt to fix it. We also shared our worries of their being a hole in the floor which your foot sunk into (we were on the top floor so we were quite concerned) and that breakfast was not an enjoyable experience. This was unfortunately met with an unbothered attitude, lack of apology and excuses beyond our control, she made no attempt to look at the safety of the floor in the room or reimburse any money. At breakfast time, one small toaster was shared between many guests which made wait times long and the selection was disappointing, we ended up having breakfast out the following day. This was certainly not an inexpensive place to stay therefore we will be contacting the property with a request to be refunded at least a portion of the money we paid. Overall, the location of the hotel was good being close to beach and bus stops, the room was clean but would not recommend this to anyone and would not go again.
