"This was a really disappointing day. We found the rooms were not very clean very dusty dirty corridors the whole hotel is dated. The problem is the cleanliness. When we had breakfast, the plates were not clean. The whole pool area was dirty. The toilet et cetera were not very nice. Wi-Fi was okay. Breakfast wasn’t great. The milk had gone off in the large container and I told them it had gone off and it took about 20 minutes for them to replace. For a four star hotel, it wasn’t a nice...

"Room had a wet mouldy smell, didnt get any better with airing out. The hotel is located in a industrial area Bathroom was worn but not the worst. The food at the connected resturant was bland but they had great understanding of gluten free. Overall was okay but wouldnt stay here again, especially at the price point."

Hooks hanging half out of the wall. Breakfast was poor, never seen a full English served with roast potatos and they tried to charge £2 for a coffee that isn't from a coffee press... "I would like to ask for a full refund really but I know I won't get one. We were left in property on our own and told to lock up when we come and go. The sheets on the beds were dirty. Bathroom dirty. Tea and coffee in the room but no milk. We left at half 4 in the morning with little or no sleep at all. Terrible place "

"Had everything we needed, in a great spot, breakfast great, quite noisy in the room until the pub closed but to be expected when staying in pub rooms. Helpful staff, great pub. Water pump/drain system in the bathroom was really noisy but suppose this can’t be helped with old building like this."

"Good parking facilities. Hotel is right in town which is a real bonus. Staff were helpful and friendly. We did not have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that. We went instead to a very charming cafe just for a change. Unfortunately the down side of the hotel are the rooms. We had a twin room, nice view and large. However the decor was very tired and frankly grubby. The bathroom was ok but if you tried turning round in the bath whilst having a shower you could, and I did, crack your...

"Howfield Manor is a really lovely hotel. Quite a unique venue. The staff were so helpful. This is my second time at the hotel yesterday was for sisters Celebration of Life. We were in the marque which was beautifully laid out, the food was extremely good and the staff were very helpful. We had a lovely room which was very clean and we had a superb view of the gardens. Highly recommended."
