"I recently stayed at the La Quinta Austin South and cannot recommend it. First, there is major, unannounced construction happening on site. The loud drilling made it hard to get work done in the room, and the property smells strongly of paint thinner. Second, they still advertise a hot breakfast, but instead hand out a grab bag with a granola bar and a muffin. Finally, I was explicitly told at check-in that I could check out at noon. On my final morning, they claimed 11:30 AM was the absolute latest, and then tried to charge a $55 fee to stay until 1:00 PM. I specifically needed a late checkout because I had my dog and couldn't access my home until the afternoon. Originally I had considered buying an additional night so I could stay until the afternoon but I was so frustrated by the end that I will not give another $ to this hotel chain. Management needs to be transparent about ongoing renovations and honor the amenities they advertise."

"Rooms are spacious, with huge refrig, dishwasher, stove oven and microwave. Large bathroom with huge walkincloset. Full size washer /drier. Ours had balcony Nicest place I’ve ever stayed for the price!"

"Made me check in at a different hotel which required two elevators and a long trek. Desk lamp switch didn't work. Thermostat didn't work. Shower drain was loose. Alarm clock had the wrong time. "

"The check-in line was incredibly long, and the wait was exhausting. I don’t see the point of offering online check-in if we still have to go through such a tedious process upon arrival. Furthermore, the pool area was a mess—there were absolutely no seats available, and the water was visibly dirty. It was a very disappointing experience."

"Great location overlooking Rainey St. The property was new and clean and the staff were friendly. Super close to the river/lake and amazing bars and restaurants. The only issue I had was the sliding barn doors on the room bathrooms. Why is it this way? It's not private."

"We traveled with our two teen daughters and two small dogs. The view from our room, "Suite, 1 Bedroom, Corner" was very large, clean and comfortable. the view was wonderful. The room was in fair condition. some of the windows were either very dirty on the outside or had a broken seal that caused condensation to get between the pains. We booked a Studio Suite: 2 Queens for our girls. Their view was of a wall a few feet from their window. The breakfast was just okay but on the poor end of the range of average for this level of hotel. Staff was very nice. "

"Our family of four had a really pleasant stay overall. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the resort itself is beautiful with great views. There was plenty for our kids to enjoy—between the pool, mini golf, s’mores hour, and game room, they were never bored. We also appreciated how easy it was to get in and out of the resort. There were a couple of downsides. The service at the pool could definitely be improved, as staff didn’t feel very friendly or attentive. We also ordered room service twice, and both times our order was incomplete. That said, the staff was apologetic and handled it professionally. Overall, despite a few service hiccups, we had a nice stay and really enjoyed the property and amenities."
