"I’d read bad reviews after booking so I was very worried. But we got a basic, decent chalet in a good location. It was quiet and safe. It needs a deep clean, mould on curtains, and cobwebs everywhere, but everything else was very clean. It was fine for the price we paid. Sykes cottages manage this chalet, but it’s Atlantic Bays reception, and they won’t know anything about your booking. "I think we had the smallest room at the hotel with a dog! We arrived at the hotel straight from the beach and while my husband was in the shower we discovered no towels were in the room. I had to go down two floors (lift broken!) just for staff to tell me sorry no towels available while they wait for their linen delivery. "We arrived at the hotel late and upon arrival had a sign saying under renovations. No pool/spa/gym/food. Room was ok. However interconnecting door unlocked which puzzled the staff as to why we would want to lock it. 2nd night bar then closed and had to request more milk pots as no laundry service/restock had taken place. "Ive stayed here a few times. The rooms are really nice but it's the second time I've stayed out of about 4 times where the linen/towels have not been clean. I came to replace the towels by ultimately had to give up due to needing to leave. The room wasnt ever refreshed for the next night stay. For the price (I paid about £400 for 2 days) it dosent really ever match up with the service, everything is too much trouble. Ive given it a few chances but there always seems to be so many friction...

"The staff were all incredibly cheery and helpful. The food was excellent (coleslaw to die for!). The local beer, Hicks, was a good temperature. Fantastically cheap breakfast of anything! Dogs welcome in any room. England World Cup game was televised but the supporters were put in a large TV room away from the residents."

"Just not very good, reasonable price but not really budget or bargain, Great location next to the train, Great Western beach and Pub, Just not a very good hotel. The single room is tiny with a tiny bed and looks more like a student doss house. No air con, fan doesn't work, no lift to the 3rd floor. Staff often not available at all, has a chintzy looking restaurant in the front but no idea what or if they serve, so many better places to eat, or stay for that matter. Tired."
