"Last minute booking made at 8pm by 11.30pm was at the property and no lockbox enaul had been forwarded so could not get into the property. Had to find alternative accomodation as could not waitcany longer for the info as no indication my issue was being addressed. Finally received the lockbox email at 12 30am 4.5hrs after the booking. Would not advise last minute/evening bookings for this venue."

"The property is small and cozy as described, facilities are tidy and clean. We couldn’t receive the check-in instructions until we call at check-in time, the problem is solved quickly. A reminder that the toilet door is a reused old front door, that means when you lock it, you should lift the handle up first and then turn the button. "Communication was non-existent - despite sending plenty of messages through the Expedia app, in the end I only got to speak with the owner when I was stood right outside the property. The beds are next level uncomfortable - very springy and one of them had a proper dip in its middle. Not recommended."

"Been going to this hotel for over 30 years. It’s a bit tired now, rooms mainly. This said it’s still very reasonable to stay there & breakfasts are good with several choices. This stay the window was open in our room when we arrived -the handle was missing & it couldn’t be close. We couldn’t telephone reception as the phone wasn’t connected & said on the phone it was from room 136 -this wasn’t our room. "Good value for money. Exactly what you would expect from a hotel on the cheap side. We got a room only for a night as we had an early morning flight from Luton. Position is very convenient to go to the airport, the hotel is only a few minutes walk to the bus station where you can get transports to get to the airport. Both the room and the bathroom were very small, especially the shower, but there was everything needed to stay a night."

"We were welcomed by a lovely lady on reception. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and very comfortable. The young waitress in the restaurant was lovely! We visited for the university open day and she gave my granddaughter lots of tips on uni life at Hertfordshire. Charming young woman…. A credit to the hotel! I plan to visit my granddaughter regularly and would most definitely stay at the Comet when I do. "

"We arrived on 2/5, everyone of the staff are so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, explained everything to you , the rooms are big , aswell as the bed!!
