Srinagar - Magical City, Magical People

Everything was Perfect !! Shaban, the Houseboat Capitain, went well over the limits trying to please us in every aspect. The Kashmiri People are extremely nice, everybody always trying to offer their help. Srinagar as a City is unbelievably beautiful. It certainly deserves a longer vacation then the three days we had. Hopefully we’ll have another opportunity to come back and further explore this magical city... Thanks Shaban and the staff of Swan G. of Houseboats !!!

Great Houseboat Stay in Paradise on Earth

First I was so worried about the negative reviews, but once I reached there to stay in Swan Houseboat that realized all the negativity comes to an end. Their Staff and services of Houseboat are very nice. Especially the room they have provided me was amazing.. I personally recommend the all to stay once during your Kashmir Tour...

Not so good

The owners keep trying to tack on additional costs on anything. You have to negotiate every price. They force you to have dinner there by already making it before you agree to it. They are not clean, and do not come with essentials such as toilet paper and shampoo. You can ask for towels though.

MY BEST HOLIDAY AT THE SWAN

I stayed on SWAN GROUP OF HOUSEBOATS and I really enjoyed my holiday as the houseboat is very well maintained with all the modern facilities and the food is delicious . They also arranged my AIRPORT PUCKUP up at a very good price. WIFI is free and very good speed. They also arranged a beautiful SHIKARA RIDE on Dal Lake and I also enjoyed it.Thanks to the management. I will come back with my family..

Pathethic/Horrible Experience

It was a horrible experience from starting to end. We end up leaving hotel after 4 hours instead of 4 hours. Will never ever recommend to stayin houseboat until you see the houseboat from inside. Heater in room was costing 800 rs for 8 hours which is after booking deluxe room. You will be left stranded in houseboat everytime you wanted to goto road -you end up paying money.. complete disaster!!!

5N stay experience

The cozy houseboat is maintained properly & is quite neat to stay & in an appropriate location. Staff there, Mr. Hassan, Mr. Latif, Mr. Shaukat & others are very welcoming, courteaous & helpful in any way possible. Food in the houseboat is quite overpriced & thats the only drawback.

A Surreal and lovely experience

The next time I visit Kashmir, it will NOT be in January. Whilst I loved it in January, I am sure that in May and June the place must just be bursting with flowers. I will return soon, and when I do I will definitely stay at the Swan Group of houseboats again, if not just for the mere fact that for very little money you sleep in a lovely atmosphere and are treated like a king. However, when I return it will be to pay a visit to my new friends who all happen to be associated with the houseboats. Both the staff of 3 on the boat: Hassan, Latif and Gulam, or the crew in management office, I left Kashmir after 4 days with several dear new friends. The boats themselves are extraordinary specimens of the kind of intricate woodcarving work treasured by Kashmiris. I had the entire property to myself, and was in heaven sitting on the stern deck at night listening to the echoes of the call to prayer bouncing from the 4 major mosques in Srinagar off of the mountains and then bouncing off the surface of Dal Lake: a crazy harmony out of cacophony, order from chase that I have only experienced there. For a true experience of Srinagar, I really couldn't reccommend the Swan Group of Houseboats any more strongly.

Swan Boat House

Hi, We have been to Swan Boat house on 29th-29th Dec-11. The hospitality provided was satisfactory. The only problem was about the Food quality which was below average. The rooms were cosy enough , however we had to pay extra amount for the Heating system. I would rate the overall stay as Average and recommend staying in boat house for 1 night and proceed to other locations like Pahalgam, which is the most appropriate pdestination during winters Regards, Navin
