The staff were all nice and helpful. Room was fine except for stain or marks on carpet. The rest was clean enough. Bed was comfortable enough for a short stay.

So so. Couldn’t use an adaptor as there isn’t space below the socket. Room wasn’t super clean. No shampoo/shower gel etc. Right in city centre. Plenty of food/shops nearby

It’s typical student dorms, central Southend for £34 when Travelodge wanted £230 for the Saturday night in July. Basic facilities but WHAT A BARGAIN

It’s waaay cheaper than anywhere else in Sarfend for a Saturday night and the walk down to the front is entertaining (locals and we visitors are a visually diverse bunch). Bed was really hard this time and the two pillows were flat as a pancake so will take my favourite with me next time. Otherwise super

Modern student accommodation. Decent enough although the bed wasn’t the greatest. Very central and 24/7 check via the reception/security desk No parking but plenty if options nearby and free street parking between 6 and 8

My partner stayed here as he needed somewhere quick and easy to stay. He said it was suitable for what he needed it for, and he really enjoyed the site seeing. If need to contact them, just don't do it via the app, as you won't get a reply (as I found out!)!!

The room was very clean and modern but the only thing was the shared kitchen which had fridges, freezers and 2 kettles but we weren’t allowed to use the 2 ovens which had tape across them warning not to use and there was no microwave. I’m sure most people are maybe only staying for a short stay but I was there for a month (working locally) and really did not enjoy takeout most nights.

A few points to note: 1. I did not receive the promised confirmation e-mail from the university. 2. They do not answer the only phone number provided by Expedia. (I was told, onsite, that this only gets answered if/when someone is at the desk). Nor do they respond when you leave a voice message on this number. 3. I had to find out (for myself) that there's a department at the main university (in Colchester) that runs this accommodation - and they did send me an e-mail confirmation. This stated that the front desk was manned until 5pm - but it's not! The staff leave at 3pm!! 4. Two security people (thankfully) were at the desk, and they could not have been more helpful. The male guard even offered to help with my luggage as he showed me to my room. 5-star service from him! 5. The room was like an ice-box (in the current cold weather) as the in-room heater had not been switched on. This eventually took the chill off… but the people running this place should be doing a much better job all-round.

Tried to check in after booking through Expedia yesterday, they had no information about any booking and are not currently letting their rooms out. I was left stranded, trying to get hold of someone to talk to at Expedia. They left me on hold for nearly 2 hours before I just gave up. Will never use this site again
