Great service but wrong priorities for poolside

Good modern hotel but disappointing that it was almost impossible to get a lounger by the poolside due to locals being allowed to use the pool despite not being paying guests. Reception and restaurant service was excellent and very friendly.

Nice view

Had to ask to move rooms as first night bed felt like sleeping on timber planks didn't sleep well not a nice room but enclosed but staff offered me snitched too which was much better. More comfortable bed and nice view much appreciate the staff accomodating me 👍

scomodo per raggiungere il mare e il centro, per via di una navetta gratuita con orari restrittivi per il mare /centro.bisogna per forza munirsi di un mezzo per essere più indipendenti. ma il panorama è molto bello,e i dipendenti molto cordiali e disponibili e anche simpatici........ un consiglio scarpe comode se non noleggiate e preparatevi a camminare

overbooked put in a lesser hotel

Advert said bus stop at front of hotel. More like a 20 min steep hill without footpath! Arrived and put in a 3* no sea view hotel because Kivo had double booked, after speaking to other guests we were not alone. Day 2 moves to Kivo and loved the hotel but no management on site all week and therefore no compensation could be offered. Lost 200 Euro as paid for a sailing trip which we had to cancel in order to report back to Kivo and move into room totally ruined Start of our holiday. That said the view and bar staff / breakfast staff were so lovely each day. Bewarned even if you confirm your stay the day before arrival you may not stay immediately where you think you’ve booked!

Very nice hotel close to the city center BUT when we arrived the first day we were informed that our room was not available. We had to spend the first night in a very old, dirty and ugly hotel (Hotel Paradise). The same happened to other guests in Kivo

Vista spettacolare, bella la zona comune, le camere molto basic, area condizionata rumorosa, tende piccole per cui molta luce la mattina. Scarse, a volte non rifornite, le forniture per il bagno. Frigo bar vuoto. Prezzi delle consumazioni al bar inutilmente troppo cari( un decaffeinato 4.50 euro, un cappuccino 6 euro). Visti i prezzi del bar non abbiamo provato il ristorante.

Management pessimo e sempre in overbooking

L'albergo era in overbooking e ci ha dirottato il primo giorno (su quattro prenotati) in un'altra struttura di livello inferiore. L'addetta alla reception, la signorina XENIA era maleducata e mentiva su tutto (ci ha detto ad esempio che ci avrebbe dato il giorno dopo di mattina presto una nuova stanza superiore a quella prenotata e cose simili mai verificatesi). L'overbooking è una chiara policy dell'albergo. Altre tre coppie quel giorno hanno avuto lo stesso problema e per più giorni. Anche altri in albergo lamentavano lo stesso problema. Ho provato a fare una prenotazione il giorno stesso presso l'albergo e risultava da sito libero e disponibile. Comportamento pessimo. Lo sconsiglio vivamente nonostante sia un bel posto con una bella vista e camere di buon livello. Non è stato possibile parlare con un manager o con il direttore della struttura. Lasciano le addette all'accoglienza a fare il capro espiatorio dei numerosi problemi con gli ospiti

Fabulous superb views but should be adult only

All but one of the reception staff were v friendly - she needs to improve her social skills! Pool area is lovely but ambience can be ruined by noisy children/ babies as there's nothing for them to do. Better to advertise it as an adult - over 16 hotel The breakfasts were ok - you tend to be pursued by wasps though We loved being a little away from the main town and went down to the bars and tavernas in the evenings by taxi or shuttle bus. Great piano and singer one evening

A bit of a pot hole treck off the main bus route, ok if you hire a bike/quad, the gourmet thing is I think, a mistake, as their food is not as enjoyable as anywhere else in town to be honest. We only ate there once, the first night, it was too late to go out. Never again. The flavours were a bit either severe, or bland. Rooms great, staff great.

Great place to stay in Skiathos

We stayed at Kivo 7th - 19th May. As this was the beginning of the season the hotel did not have many guests, there were some room renovations being done and only a limited menu was available. Understanably the room rates are cheaper at this time but perhaps it could be mentioned on the website so guests are prepared and will not be dissapointed. Also the website had not yet been updated to say they no longer had a Sushi chef. However, the food that was available was very good thanks to an excellent chef and his team. The hotel provided a free shuttle to and from Skiathos town where there are lots of places to eat from fast food to gourmet restaurants. The position on top of the cliff means there are wonderful views and also the hotel is away from traffic noise so very peacefull. There are maps provided in receiption and are easy to follow for walking in the area. If you wish the very helpful Anna will give you ideas on where to eat out or you can book Sakis the driver to take you sightseeing for a small charge. All in all Kivo is a very friendly hotel in a beautiful position and we will return. By the way, we booked the pool suite - wow - it is worth the extra cost, the view from the private terrace is stunning.

una vacanza indimenticabile

L'albergo è situato in posizione strategica, con una visuale bellissima. La camera spaziosa e pulita, un balconcino vista mare incantevole. Tutto lo staff cortese e gentile, sia alla reception, sia in sala, sia nella cura delle stanze (un bacio speciale a Katrina). Consigliatissimo! A presto Kivo!

Giusto per una notte

Hotel in posizione panoramica ma scomodo da raggiungere. Personale della receptionist svogliato, senza alcun interesse verso le necessità del cliente. Spazi comuni accettabili, forse non troppo ben tenuti. Ristorante di buon livello, con terrazza spettacolare. Camera spartana, un po' cadente, letto con lenzuola troppo corte e cuscini di dimensioni diverse, bagno infelice.

Fantastic views

Staff really helpful - lovely spot. Good breakfast and choice for evening meal.
