Comfortable cozy cabin in pristine setting. Bon the owner was extremely communicative and helpful as was the caretaker Roger. Roger told us of some good nearby hiking areas. Would definitely go back if in the area again.
Great location, in the woods but not too far from Silver City. Buckhorn Saloon right up the road.

(Green Cabin)
The cabin is great wonderful location. We spent 5 days and it was perfect for our family. Myself husband 11,7 and 2 month old had plenty of room. Only bad thing the bed in the bedroom wasn’t very comfortable and the pillows are horrible plus the bathtub was a little scary. Worked just fine but the bottom was patched and certain spots felt like you could fall through. But other than that it was perfect and the owner is super nice.

We got the green "cabin" - really a green single wide really old trailer. Old is not bad, I like old stuff, just stained old carpet and cob-webs with bugs jumping on me, oh boy! The shower was a treat, it sinks down when you're stepping into it and the grout was pretty, too! There's a cleaning fee if you were to leave the place dirty, don't know why I did this-but put my hand on top of the stove vent and it stuck! Bob is great, and the area is truly beautiful - but this "cabin" needs help. Stat!!
Nice modular home in the mountains. The host was very helpful with directions around the area and met us at our cabin when we arrived. The only complaint that I have is that the tub in the bathroom felt as if you could step through it felt like you would fall through other than that I enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed.
Bob, the owner was very nice. After I made the reservation he called and explained exactly how to find the place (it's about five miles out of town) and the check-in procedure. When we arrived he suggested a great restaurant for dinner and gave me pointers on where to use my metal detector.
We stayed four nights and are considering going back in the future.
The little red cabin allowed what is usually an exahuasting trip to visit family in Fort Bayard, to become a pleasant and relaxing visit. It is not to far out of the way and it is vary comfortable.
All in all it was okay. Beautiful location. Friendly owner, Bob. Bed and pillows left something to be desired. A little surprised there wasn't any shampoos or conditioners, though I didn't contact the owner to see if he would provide, so he might have.
This is a lovely little cabin in the woods. It’s a good size, nicely decorated and well equipped with full kitchen. We were happy to find coffee and all the fixings supplied. Bob and Roger were attentive in making sure we found the place (it was easy) and took care of our needs. The only downside was an unpleasant odour of cooking fish, which I know is not the owner’s fault, but it needed a good airing before our arrival. Aside from this unfortunate occurrence, we would recommend a stay at Pinos Altos. It’s located handily near(er) the Gila Forest.
Needed a quiet self contained place to recoup for a few days. This place was perfect for that. Would recommend to replace mattress as was a tad uncomfortable but not too bad. Enjoyed our quiet retreat.
I needed out of the city. Badly. Bob and this wonderful place did exactly that. I could sit on the porch and watch nothing much at all forever... Cook up some beans, fresh coffee, eggs with hot Hatch chilies. Putz with the old guitar... what a life!
