Received a free upgradeâĶ. to a room that was likely noisier than the room type we paid for due to sports and the jazz festival in town, which is probably why we got upgraded so a regular visitor could have a quieter room.
Cannot fault the staff who went over and above and we all super friendly. And the food was gorgeous.
We did feel that as a lesbian couple we were not really welcomed there - especially when the young staff member checking us in gave a shocked look when she realised that our room was made up as a double. If the hotel is not LGBTQ+ friendly then that should be made clear, a less comfortable couple could have been upset/stressed by the looks received from guests and staff.
The room was comfortable, also the bed so we had good night rest.
We did not like service in the bar area. We went to the bar after long way drive, there was a lot of staff, but nobody came to take our order. We had to wait nearly 20 min to be serve.
Good location, plenty of parking. Room clean staff excellent (apart from one). Sink and shower could do with attention to wastes as both slow to empty. (Easy to adjust).
Area above reception could do with cleaning as viewable from balcony above.
Food very good.
A one-night stay for the first time at this hotel but given a welcome as if we were long established guests staying much longer. A compact room but with a spacious en suite and nice big towels. A smallish double bed but very comfortable.
