Staff were helpful, however when attending for breakfast I was told ‘it’s closing’ rather than just offered a seat, when breakfast was due to be open for another hour. We then also had a small bite in the lounge area the next day, and the food took nearly 40mins. We used the spa facilities, and these are always great. The room was comfy and just as we would expect. It’s the second time we have stayed, and would go back again. "

"Perfect for a city break. The rooms and communal areas are clean and modern. Breakfast is fresh and there's lots of choice. Some people said there is no bacon at breakfast, but that's incorrect – as of October 2025, there *is* bacon at breakfast. Location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station and city centre. The only thing that lets it down is the lack of car parking, but that's due to its central location so can't do much about that! I used JustPark to get parking nearby."

"Room was lovely and way bigger than expected. Staff were fantastic and the pub is beautiful with stone floors and wooden beams. Big beer garden with children's play area, although it rained overnight so we couldn't go out and enjoy it but looked fab"

"Property was very pet friendly ( Monty even had his own sausage for breakfast free). Small caravan/ motorhome site adjacent to pub, only four letting rooms but excellent value for money,so book well in advance to secure your room, will definitely be returning."
