"This is a great location . Walking distance to everything you want to see and need . The hotel/apts act as a self service experience much like many of the stays in the area . Your door codes will work promptly at 3p check in . The apt has a small full kitchen at your disposal. A bonus store and a well stocked convenient store with in a short walk. Parking was also available spaces at entrance door and several rarely used spots in lot beside the building on other side."

"This was a self-check in stay. When we entered the lobby from the street, it smelled like people had been smoking in the lobby all day and the smell did not fade the whole time we were there. We got into our room and it smelled like bad body odor. There was a frumpy foam couch that probably held most of the smell. "The Swan House is in a good area for accessing everything in Reykjavik. The apartment and neighborhood were quiet and the host was so helpful with prompt responses to emails. Lots of pubs and good places to eat within a few blocks. Convenience stores were also fairly close."

"Our room was excellent, the community area was well stocked with utensils, cooking and dinner ware. Everything was very clean, comfortable and warm. The patio area overlooking the road/city center was wonderful. Location is fantastic!!! Roughly the center point of the city center, shops and restaurants abound. We were in Iceland two weeks, easily our favorite place. Would definitely rebook here if we were to return. Highly recommended."

Beware that there is no elevator in the adjacent building where we stayed on the 3 floor. Also there was some significant water damage on the wall that did not look good. The dish rack was broken.
