"Strikingly looking hotel. Unfortunately on entering reception, we were greeted with a dirty carpet, which carries on into the bar area with lots of stains. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs, which I wasn't aware of when I booked. Therefore, in this heatwave, the room was an oven. There was a desk fan - 'thank goodness'. Pleased with the room, the layout and amenities. Curtains need seeing to, useless and need blackouts! All the staff were pleasant and hard working. Did not expect a buffet...

"Got a really good price on a room with a gym on site. There was decent parking available and I got parked up near the entrance. I had a room on the ground floor which was close to the gym as well as the entrance. The room was pretty standard but what was required for me. I got shown to the gym which had new equipment and had plenty to choose from. I was then told it was an extra £5 to use it which would have been nice to know as part of booking the stay. I had a great workout at the gym then...

"We had a good stay at the Sloop Inn. Lovely friendly staff. The best breakfast. The property is a little dated, and the bed isn't the most comfortable, but it was all good for a one-night stay. Would recommend."

I drove back onto the main road and saw a small lane on the right and a sign propped against the wall showing Church Farm guest house. There was no sign for anyone coming from Abergavenny, like me. "The Royal George is a lovely pub and Inn. The food is fantastic and all staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. We had an upstairs room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Our room was very nicely appointed, spacious and quiet. Free parking was plentiful on the property (front and back lots). There is a small grocery store a ross the street. It is a beautiful area to walk around and a great base for exploring surrounding towns and attractions."

"Apartment was very spacious with everything we needed. A continental breakfast was provided which was appreciated. We had dinner at the pub one night and it was delicious. Staff were very friendly. Plenty of parking available. There is no lift and entry/exit is via external fire exit stairs at the rear of the building."
