"It was a convenient location. It was good to be able to leave the car outside the guest house, and for it to included in the price. My husband and I enjoyed the views from the bedroom window overlooking the bay. However the bedroom was smaller than we expected. The staff and customers were friendly. We expected our 'own' bathroom to be in our bedroom, as opposed to being on the landing next to our bedroom. "

"This is a very traditonal hotel in the best sense of that word. The rooms are spacious and we had one with a great view towards Robin Hoods Bay. We had dinner and breakfast and both were very good."

"For a 3 star hotel I find Rivelyn excellent. It is always clean, the staff are helpful and friendly and beds are comfortable and the breakfast well cooked. It is located within a 2 minute walk to beautiful sea views from the Esplanade, a 5 minute walk of local shops and a 10 minute or less walk to the town centre, restaurants, cafes and the theatre, and also the beach. "

"Very convenient for central Scarborough, South Bay and the Spa. Parking is a little tricky although there is a multi-storey up the road for £12 a day. The hotel itself was grand although in need of a little TLC - renovations were ongoing while we were there. The room was similar - comfortable and spacious but with a few things in need of repair."

"Room, a good size and couch to sit and watch TV. Only problem was room was on side of main road and difficult to sleep in noise. Also bathroom sink tap not functioning properly. First night I could not open the tap to wash my hands or fill kettle for a cup of tea, had to use the shower. Second night took time to switch off tap. Rang bell to get assistance but no one came so communication poor. Overall not very happy that basic need like tap water was not easily available."
