"I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "

Only negatives are that road facing room was a little noisy during the morning and evening rush hours and the security light in the room was quite intrusive. Overnight the hotel was very noisy with sound travelling between floors etc. The staff were nice but a little indifferent. The breakfast was part cold and the coffee was terrible. "Great stay in a great pub/inn in a lovely village. Originally we were looking for somewhere near York and picked this place at random – so got lucky. Decent-sized, comfortable room, the beer 'proper' Yorkshire, and the food was excellent throughout – we could have eaten almost amything on the quite extensive menu.
