"The cottage is a bit tired but well equiped, clean and comfortable. The instructions to find the key were terrible! it says get them from a key safe padlocked to the front railings at the front of the house and they were at the back, attached to the house. Google maps cannot find the address so we followed the instructions given. It mentions a car show room that it is not there anymore (a convenient Tesco instead). Top Saunton Hotel Reviews

The Imperial Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel was excellent. It felt very upmarket but without an upmarket price. Room was small but absolutely fine for one person. Wonderful bathroom! Food was excellent. Will be going back next year."

Watersmeet Hotel

8/10 Good

"This hotel is in a fantastic location with beautiful walks along the shore. The hotel is clean, sophisticated and comfortable. The staff were almost all very friendly, kind and helpful. The food was very nice - excellent breakfasts especially. The only downsides are that the pool is freezing. Also information on the room specification was misleading ‘shower/bathtub combination’ logically made me think we would have a bathtub with a shower over the top. As a part of an expensive seaview room, I really wanted a bath and the information given made me believe this is what we would have instead of the shower which I found in our room. Otherwise I would not have booked that room. I was told on arrival by the hotel manager that I should have made a special request for this before arriving (which made it seem like this was my fault). She told me that there was nothing she could do about it because they were fully booked and that next time, I needed to request this to avoid being disappointed. No other attempts to make up for this or to at least accept that the information given had been misleading were made. The rest of the kind and welcoming staff and our stay there made up for this rude and unkind interaction and we had a nice time but this did taint the trip for us and better customer service could have avoided us feeling disappointed and told off."
