"We stayed in a very nice cottage next to the Mayfield. It was very clean and modern looking in the bathrooms. There are very large beds in both rooms , each having a bathroom, very convenient.
The distance from Scarborough is about 10 minutes drive right to the seafront.
The reception staff are efficient and curteous.
Lots of parking out front too.

"Waterhouse lovely clean & comfortable . Poor phone signal & no WI-FI a disadvantage . Despite prepaying by credit card got bill at checkout . Explained to receptionist who checked and confirmed prepayment . Was horrified to see next evening I was charged again for our stay . Immediately contacted hotel who suggested I ring next morning . Next morning I commenced the lengthy process of trying to get my money back ! Despite 5 phone calls I never got a call back as promised each time . Excuses...

"Fantastic location for town access and all that Cheltenham has to offer. Even though 1B is quite small it has everything needed for a short stay and is comfortable and very clean. Great communications too. Would recommend to others wanting easy access to Cheltenham town."

"The Parlour: this is a clean, comfortable, very well equipped little place to stay. Do be aware that it is quite remote, reached up several very narrow country roads. We couldn't get any phone signal and the wi-fi doesn't work in or immediately outside the cottage. Kate gave us a warm welcome."

"We loved the location and the cottage was clean. However, I was there for 5 days, and was informed at the last minute that their wasn't laundry machines available, no wifi and the heater in the cottage was broken and only a few towels. "

"Location, location, location! It's barely 2 blocks from Edinburgh Waverly Station, and you might even be able to get there directly (though I couldn't find it). An easy walk up and down Princes Street with lots of shopping and dining. The breakfast room is lovely, the servers were helpful and friendly, and the food was delicious. I stayed on a tour, and out of 6 hotels, Apex had some of my favorite toiletries. My kids also liked the pool, although it was 'too cold' for them.
We were there during a heat wave, and we were very grateful for the air conditioning! Unfortunately, it didn't work the first night, but the staff were very helpful in finding us a new room, helping move our stuff, and comping us breakfast for the trouble. They were also down to one working elevator, and the front entrance has 3 steps with no obvious ramp. Be careful when booking to specify if you have mobility needs, as some of the rooms on the "seventh" floor are down stairs with no lift. They also had a weird shower design that caused water to run down the door and onto the floor, which is more a problem for their staff than for us guests."
"Loved the views of the bridge & the river. Staff was very helpful, air conditioner didn’t work but they brought us a portable one which worked great. We had leftovers from a nice restaurant so they brought a refrigerator to our room. Loved that their was a bathtub in the room too."
"Staff really helpful and lovely, room really nice, breakfast delicious. They put a balloon and goodies in our room as it was my birthday. Special touch, very much appreciated. "
"I was honestly impressed with how much I liked my stay here with my young child! The room was very clean, staff was amazing, the room was small and simple but perfect size for what we needed: to sleep comfortably. The bed was comfortable and the AC was so good we woke up feeling cold even though it was roasting outside. It is located in a great area, very close to the Victoria Station and many restaurants. We will definitely be back!"
"The hotel was modern and was in great shape, but there were literally no amenities. They didn’t have any water for the room. They claimed to have a restaurant, but there was no restaurant - there was one across the street that was only open for breakfast; the bathroom floors were not clean- you couldn’t tell until you walked on them, but they obviously had not been mopped. The bar which was limited in items did not have many seats, so it was always full. However, every single member of the staff was great."
"The only negative thing I have to comment on is the pre-arrival service with reservations. I had received confirmation they would cancel my booking through Hotels.com for a single pod, because I wanted to upgrade to a double pod, and after making the second booking for a double pod, they refused Hotels.com approval cancel the first booking free of charge. It was only after providing the proof of emails to Hotels.com and them persevering, that Otherwander cancelled the first booking free of charge and retained my second booking.
In terms of the property itself, it was really cool and a unique experience. It's basically like staying in an uber-modern hostel with private, secure and quiet bunks. The bathrooms are greatly appointed, though in the next refit I think they could do with some more bench space to be able to put your bags etc.
Even though the Double Pods technically can sleep two people, it would be VERY tight. Great for one person though. Would stay again when by myself."
