The room was a perfect size for 4 adults and it also had air conditioning. The Staff was amazing and really made our stay in the Dessert great. We enjoyed the the room, location and staff was a big help. A short walk to shopping & restaurants. It was perfect for us!

Guillermo was very kind, attentive and hospitable. Beds were comfortable and the property was quiet. Shower was a little difficult to regulate the temperature but overall this was a great place to stay for a few days in San Pedro!

Property was nice and humble. There lots of power outages in Atacama and most of the time their generator worked except on our 3rd day it was freezing. Though this isn’t their fault at all just being warm pijamas and I hope the staff is aware that maybe they need to check the generator is loaded with fuel. Over all the kindness of people made this place exceptional.

Great place to relax

Handy situated with short walk to main shopping area. Family owned. Although limited english we were well looked after, the father was most helpful. It was lovely having a pool to relax in as the weather was very hot.

A little expensive for the service. At €20 less per night, the service would have been considered excellent. The room is small and the only window overlooks an interior patio. . But there is a shared terrace which is very pleasant and makes up for this inconvenience. The breakfast is adequate, nothing more.

The room was confortable and spacious. Shower was good with plenty of hot water. The hostel is close to the tour agencies and restaurants. The manager don Guillermo tried to help us in everything we needed but the other staff didn't give us towels and the breakfast was not ready at 8.30am. The breakfast was basic and only one toaster was in use, we needed to wait to use it, There was not help and properly service at breakfast and cleaning.

Vicuña Lodge

Vicuña Lodge was a pleasant surprise. It is very well kept, spotless and nice! It is conveniently located within mi utes to Caracoles street, where most of the city activity, restaurants and tour operators are located. Only downside is that rooms are around a long square so very exposed to noise although a nice design

Guillermo was wonderful, welcoming and helpful. (Fortunately my husband spoke Spanish so they could communicate.) He provided us with bagged breakfasts for our early morning tours. Coffee and tea were available throughout the day. The location was quiet; a 5-10 minute walk from the center of town. The bathroom was small but fine and the shower had plenty of hot water. The room itself had a large wet spot on the wall and would have benefitted from table lamps on the night stands. The fan was helpful to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. It was a pleasant stay in San Pedro de Atacama.

Property was really good and the host was really friendly and accomodating even though we don't speak the language. They prepared breakfast for us every morning and cleaned the rooms every day too. Small property so you can talk to other guests as well. Waking up and eating breakfast with the view of desert and mountains in the backdrop was really special too. The place is 5 mins walk from main market street so you are perfectly tucked away from peak tourist traffic and still close enough to get out and do your stuff. The airport transfer services come up to the hostel and most of the tours can pick you up from this location. Ones which cannot will generally pick up from a location which can not be more than 10 moinutes walk. We visited in winter and from our experience, two things that I want to highlight. 1. you are very close to the driest place on the earth so pack lotion and 2 because you are in the middle of a desert and temperatures drop significantly at night its better to pack warm clothes to sleep in. Room was colder than a usual hotel room.

Excellent property! Nice clean and very safe hotel on good location. The breakfast was tasty and delicious. The staff is more than friendly. Special and a big thank you to the host GUILLERMO. He is the man with a great heart and soul. Help to guests to enjoy the stay in anyway. He doesn't speaks English but still you can communicate with him. He help to us a lot. Found people who speak English and we organised some tours. Thank you GUILLERMO for everything you did for us!

Check in greeting by a young relative was not friendly. No one speaks English. The owners were very nice & kind, hard working, but couldn’t provide info / help as they did not speak English. It was often young people manning the front reception area/ desk, which also needs renovations. Needs air conditioning. Place needs work/ renovations ( things look very slapped together using whatever materials were around): new bedroom night-tables & New paint job to cover repairs to plaster, new beds as soft & bedding ( outdated), kitchen area, reception area & new outdoor chairs. Conditioner & a hairdryer would be helpful. Bathrooms were small, but fully renovated & floors all had new tiles.Bedrooms were very clean. Housekeeper did a very thorough job. Pool freezing but using the pool cover at night would help. Breakfast was ok. Mostly self serve. Snack for early risers needs breakfast items. There was a communal fridge. Good location.

Very helpful staff and nothing too difficult. Room was fine for 4 adults and affordable. Breakfast was adequate for our needs. We were on tours for the majority of the time. The staff even gave us a breakfast snack pack outside our room as we left early on a tour one morning.
