This is one of the better Red Roof properties in the country and the very best in San Antonio. Red Roof Inns provides basic, pet-friendly lodging at a very low nightly rate, but the quality of the rooms and feeling of safety and security vary widely from property to property. I’ve stayed at least 20 Red Roof Inns in 8 states from New Mexico to New York.

Another great stay with the RED ROOF INN. Quite, clean, daily room check for towels needed. 4 nights stay was great and very fair price. Stayed in Red Roof Plus in Hammond, LA on the trip into San Antonio and will stay in Hammond again on the way back. Thanks for a great stay.

Parking was convenient, and although the facilities were a bit dated, I had no trouble spending the day there. It seemed well looked after. It was quiet, and the room was larger and cleaner than I’d expected. It was a very good choice for spending a day on a tight budget.

Everything was good and the bed was comfortable. My only real complaint is that the night attendant "Dan" is often not at the desk so you have to sit there and wait until he decides to emerge from wherever he was. If he is not available, there therefore should be an automatic way to check-in and get a key. Waiting around at 11pm is unacceptable. In addition, this is an airport hotel so presumably people are arriving at all hours and times.

On my first run through San Antonio on my fall 2026 trip, I stayed at Quality Inn and Suites on 281, which was a bad experience, so I checked reviews more carefully for my San Antonio stay on my return trip, and this place had good reviews (and was close to the airport), so I decided to try it. It was a good choice. It was the same price as Quality Inn, but cleaner. I was quite tired when I got here and had a short night, so I don’t remember many details about it, but I don’t remember being dissatisfied with anything. The bed was good, the bathroom was fine, and a plus for me is that there was no carpet on the floor — I find hotel carpets to be gross. The room had a large desktop with a chair that looked comfortable. (I forgot to get a picture of that.) If you want a cheap hotel, especially one close to the airport, I would recommend this one.
