Was in town for a concert, Hotel was great but best part was location. I was able to wake up one morning and walk less then 5 minutes to see the alamo. Another I could walk less than 5 minutes to the River Center Mall and river walk. Overall location of the hotel was incredible and the hotel itself was amazing

Perfect location for tourists visiting San Antonio. The hotel is beautiful and our room was very nice. Dining room was very nice as well. My cousins from Germany stayed here with me and loved it and the history as well. The staff was helpful and courteous. The Alamo, Riverwalk, Rivercenter, Tower of Americas, San Fernando Cathedral and Mercado were all close. Lots of really great restaurants to choose from. {Texas Republic, Paesanos, Rain Forest Cafe, Hard Rock Cafe and Paseo Del Rio} We loved Mi Tierra at the Mercado.

The pool and surrounding area were great. Lovely to relax after a hard days sight seeing. Would recommend Menger Hotel any time. Didn't actually get to eat in the hotel, but the adjoining Tapas bar was worth a visit.

I am drawn to the Alamo so I loved this hotel which has an entrance to the Alamo courtyard. I loved the historic furnishings in my room and Kcup coffee maker and bottled water and the mini fridge. Then there was a heavy dps presence which made me feel safe. Wifi worked well.

The plumbing in the bathroom was disconnected and non-functional. There were no additional rooms available. This room never should have been assigned to a guest. We had to stay there with no working shower. Expedia customer service was amazing.

The hotel and pool were beautiful. Great location! My only issue was the air conditioning. I put it on full blast and the room never cooled below 76 degrees. I got moved to a different room the second night but the same thing happened. At least the second room had a ceiling fan, which helped. I think it's just an old hotel which can't handle extreme heat. I'd go back there in the winter!

The pool was great. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Hotel uses two-pipe heating/cooling system, so room was not as cool as it could have been. Other than that, the hotel was super beautiful with plenty of old western charm. I would stay here again.
