The Gastehaus im Priesterseminar is ideally located--close to the old town and to many of Salzburg's major tourist sites, the Salzach river, a good selection of restaurants and is just a 10-15 minute walk from the main train station. The hotel and rooms are very sparsely decorated but comfortable and there is a community dining area with a refrigerator, stove, microwave and a entertainment area with a TV, books, and computer and printer. I've read that there is no air conditioner in the rooms which may give me second thoughts about staying here in the summer (I don't know if this is accurate so I'd check with the hotel before booking) and the rooms aren't soundproof so it can get noisy. If you're looking for a quaint and unique hotel stay that's conveniently this is the place for you.
