"Although it can be a little tricky parking when all the places are nearly full the hotel is ideally situated near the center of Sidmouth. Very much a boutique hotel and it was full when we arrived as we hadn't realised it was the carnival weekend. Stayed in for dinner which we were asked to select our choices in advance and it was excellent - beautifully cooked and very tasty. Our room was very quiet overnight and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast in the morning had a great choice of options and the coffee was good. Overall - highly recommended."

"I would like to have given the Sidmouth Harbour Hotel 5 stars. However, I have only given it 4 stars because the main hotel description on Expedia is inaccurate. It says "this hotel sits directly on a pebble beach....". It does not. It is situated about 3 minutes walk from the beach, 75 feet above sea level on the adjacent hillside. I pointed this error out to the receptionist, who agreed the description is incorrect. But it has not been changed. In all other respects, the hotel met our expectations. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast and dinner was very good. I particularly enjoyed the pianist playing the piano during Sunday lunch. I recommend this hotel to couples who are looking for a luxurious stay."
