Auf ein Wort - Gästeservice und Lebensmittel!

Wer als Europäer Ägypten besucht, der muss seine Ansprüche an Gästeservice und Lebensmittelhygiene aktuell weit zurückstellen. Offensichtlich haben die meisten Hotels in Ägypten ihren Leistungsanspruch an sich selbst sehr sehr weit zurückgefahren. Das Personal an den Hotelrezeptionen vermittelt einem Europäer das Gefühl, als wäre man als Gast des Landes nicht wirklich mehr erwünscht. Extraleistungen wie Frühstück auf dem Zimmer oder das Auffüllen der Minibar werden einfach ignoriert. Reklamationen werden zwar entgegengenommen, aber nur sehr zögerlich zu Gunsten der Gäste beseitigt. Das Old Palace in Hurghada ist mehr ein Hotel für Einheimische/ Ägypter sowie russische Staatsbürger.

A lovely, well maintained hotel with very nice staff +good customer service. Good security with check points 1 mile away from the hotel, and again at the gates. 1 Down point was wifi was not included and there was a charge per day, per person (around £3-£4) . You got a code, per 24 hours- so keying this in was inconvenient, AND this was only to use the net in the lobby. The main pool was good size + well maintained, and a short walk (about 200metres) is the beach where residents get free towel and loungers. The smaller relaxation pool is also nice and little more quiet. We used the spa and the treatments were very good. We had a hammam experience for around £105 Egyptian pounds (sauna, jacuzzi, scrub, facial, and 50 min full body massage) and then also a 30 min massage on day of departure, all this cost around £60 in sterling (if I remember correctly!). The breakfast was OK, have had better. After 2 days, was a bit bored of options. There was an egg station where you can order fresh omelette, eggs- fried or scrambled or have pancakes that were made in batches. Mohamed at the reception desk was very helpful to us. He recommend places and helped where he could to arrange a taxi, and even a private tour of hurghada, where a recommended and trusted driver took us around.It can be daunting sometimes going as foreigners and as girls, but taking a local really helped so would def recommend that. It also meant we were not ripped of at the stores as he advised us of prices

Beautiful!

What a lovely experience it was, just tranquil. Staff were amazing and so helpful all the time. My only critique would be the bathroom is in serious need of renovation & room need a little modernisation. Other then that my experience there was just amazing, loved everything about the hotel.

I sent there 5 days/4nights. the stay was amazing. Stuff is very helpful, always happy to serve you :). The rooms are very good, the view is perfect. The hotel space is huge & it looks comfortable. I will visit it again soon :)

Good value of money

The hotel is good, the food there is good, you will always find varieties of food there, workers there are friendly and the hotel overall is good. The only problem with that hotel is the rooms, they need to be maintained more, also my room view wasn't so good. But overall the hotel is not bad for a four stars hotel.

Almost a great hotel!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Old Palace. We had three standard rooms. In one room the phone handset was plugged into the phone's data socket instead of handset socket, so I had to discover and solve the problem to be able to call the front desk! In our room, despite asking many times for it to be repaired, the A/C struggled to go below 24 degrees. In the neighbouring room, the auto function was broken, so the A/C was either on, and the room got too cold, or off, and it then became too stifling. We had an issue with the cleaning of our room as well, with it not being cleaned fully and in time one day and dirty glasses and cups not being cleared another day. However, front desk service was great at apologising for any issues and doing their best to resolve them. Momen, the front desk manager, was very accommodating at ensuring we were happy and taken care of. There was only one pool, which was fine as it was large and the hotel isn't too big. However, it was very cold: it took a long time for children to warm up after playing in it, and we had to take them out due to their shivering, despite them having fun. The beach for the hotel was okay, but significantly inferior to nearby beaches within a short walk. Good location within short walk of shops and amenities, such as the piazza and old town. Fresh omelette in morning and pasta in evening nice. Hit and miss with buffet items. BBQ at night was usually good. Good fruit and salad selection.

It is the best resort exists on earth.

It is the best resort exists on earth. There is nothing more you can ask for. Amazing variety of food, very clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful swimming pools, and incredible beach with crystal clear warm water as if you are taking a spa in open air. I have been everywhere and finally found the place that is my paradise in this life. Whenever I visit Egypt in the future, Old Palace Resort will be my destination for sure.

Food was very bad at 1st day, then it was good at the last 2 days. But there is no variety between international types of food. Bit in general the hotel is good and have good service and helpful staff but it will be better if ther renew the rooms because it is old fashion especially the old t.v !! also the air condition need some maintenance..

A nice Experience

We stayed in Old Palace Resort for three nights. Parking was available on the spot and was even in front of the room which was pleasant, check-in was extremely easy for two rooms and didn't take much time at all, however one room took almost an extra two hours for us to check in as it was being cleaned, but we were compensated. We had an upgrade. Rooms were clean with a nice venue. We were informed about the change of the time of the dinner one day earlier, and check out was easy. Beach was very nice, staff was very helpful, smiling and supportive. food was good. We had a nice vacation and I would recommend the hotel if are looking for some kind of relaxation. Nice Family Vacation. I will revisit the hotel pretty soon
