"They use an older form of key card to unlock the door. It's a swipe card, it did not swipe which ment returning to reception to get it programmed again, very inconvenient when I had 3 bags with me.
Everything else was good, including the breakfast.
Just one thing I don't like is taking a deposit to cover any expenses, I am always worried that they or I will forget and I don't get my money back."
"The room I was in needed the upholstery and carpet thoroughly cleaned . If you bent down from the chair it didn’t smell nice at all. Also pillows and duvet needed washing .
I have to say I have acute sense of smell!"
"Staff need training. No welcome from reception. Room needed a lot of updating. Fire alarm went off in early hours. No staff on site and no emergency contact details readily available once we had evacuated. No apology when checking out and we weren’t asked if we’d had a good stay. Excellent location."
"Restaurant was closed during the stay, windows boarded up, room looked tired, Had to ask the staff to refresh the room daily, Bathroom in need of a good tidy up & redecoration"

Flooring could benefit from an update in room but all very clean, and was a lovely room if a bit creepy! 😀
Dean on reception deserves a special mention as he is a credit to the hotel!"
"Beds are huge and the staff are jolly and helpful providing excellent service. Communal lounge, dining room and grounds all kept really nice.
Spa is more functional than luxurious but good for the price.
Only negatives were:
- both me and my friends eggs at breakfast tasted very vinegar-y.
- Each time the extractor fan was on in my room it was drawing in bad smells eg sewage and cabbage cooking smells.
However overall we really enjoyed our stay and are grateful to the staff for making it really pleasant."
