"Was a good experience overall, only problem is there was no parking and public parking was $6.50 an hour."

"Parking was free via a ticket from the motel. The carpark was gravel which made moving the heavy cases difficult. Our room was at the very end of the ground floor so it was a fair hike to get there, this could have been problematic if there had been any mobility issues The room itself although starting to show its age was good Staff were excellent and it was novel to have a bowling alley as part of the complex. A great hotel across the road for meals."

"This is a stunning spot, and the Retreat is really well set up. Whether you are looking for a bit of luxury retreat, or a base for outdoor activities. We really enjoyed our stay."

"The property has beautiful views and is not a terrible walk to town. Just a steeper hike uphill when you walk back to the hotel from town. The bed was the best I have slept on while in New Zealand! Very comfortable. "

"Room was very clean. The kitchen was busy but decent. The bar seems like a money grab since you can't drink your own alcohol. Very close to town and paid parking. "

"We stayed in two studio lakeview apartments. The first one (109) had great views, but kitchen facilities could do with an upgrade (had to ask for a plate and the frypan was poor quality). The second one (409) seemed larger and was better equipped. Enjoyed having a washer and dryer. Buffet breakfast in hotel was expensive for what it was - again could do with an upgrade. "
