"I am recovering from neck surgery, and was catching up with my daughter for 2days, so booked Duxton as a treat.
Not fit enough for much. Disappointed to see on arrival workmen out the front doing demolition work. The noise was deafening, and relentless. As the dining room and bar are next to reception area, the noise carried through, so eating there was not a pleasant experience.
We spent the 2 days having meals in the room. Very unfortunate, I would not have booked if I had known."
"Large room with a balcony we couldn’t use due to weather but helpful because the windows are single pane and the road noise is high. Large shower with separate tub. There is a mini fridge and kettle for instant coffee or tea. The closet comes with four attached hangers but they will bring more if you ask. Not sure how the allocation of towels works but we had to ask to have facecloths delivered. No bar soap for the shower but attached liquid bath gel, shampoo & conditioner. There’s a guest laundry. Bedtime your credit card"
"Warders cottages are quaint as they are heritage but not suitable for families with younger children as the bunk beds are very high and the hotel bar is literally right outside your door where there’s loud music playing till 11+pm. There should be a noise warning for this particular room. Floorboards are also original and creaky so it’s not great if you’re sensitive to sounds at night."
"We had a Club Lounge room, this was fantastic.
The room was enormous, clean and well appointed. The cocktails and the breakfast in the lounge were plentiful and wide ranging, plenty for any taste.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Won’t hesitate to stay here again"
"Breakfast menu was fantastic. A highlight to start the day. All staff are friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here. The view from 4th floor to the water was exactly what we wanted. Thank you. "
