The inn was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. There is a sign for the inn at the road, but the building has no signage (not even on the door). We were not sure that we were at the correct place. Very close to the Potomac Eagle railroad.
This is a wonderful place to stay. It is very clean and the people are very pleasant. The only improvement that I can think of would be to add a comfortable chair for sitting while watching TB, talking ETC..
Very nice hotel seems new and midern. Room is nice with basic amenities of shampoo and microwave and frig. No coffee maker in room. Breakfast has variery if chouces but no waffles or warm food such as eggs, meat, etc. Staff very helodul and friendly. Good lication and choice if riding the Poromac Eagle train.Excellent steak house close by with terrific food
the staff was pleasant and the place is very clean. my concerns are small. I didn't care for the soaps and shampoo provided. they just weren't that good. also the tv is older and I noticed that some of the wallpaper seams need to be glued down. I would stay here again. very clean, as I said it was just little things
Friendly staff and nice clean room. Good wifi too. Only suggestion is to explain on the website that the hotel is set back a little from Route 50 in a mall type place. We figured it out fairly easily but I can see how this might be confusing.
Air conditioning was not adequate. It blew cool air but did not take humidity out of the room.
Carpet was damp because of this and there was a musty Oder in the room because of this. It even caused the sheets to be damp.
When we arrived, the elevator had just broken. It was 90 degrees with no A\C in the step well. Our room was on the third floor.
In the morning there was no coffee in the room so we had to go up and down the steps again.
We asked to be moved and to get a discount on our room. We did get the room changed to the first floor after some people checked out, but NO discount for our inconvenience.
The rooms had nothing on the walls, so it looked and felt more like a prison room.
When checking out, the woman behind the counter left me standing there with my room keys in my hand as she was reading something for several LONG minutes????? Never said “be with you in a minute”.....just ignored me....
The outside and lobby look very nice. Staff were friendly and attentive and room was clean, but I feel, for the cost, the room would be updated. The TV, mattresses and furnishing should be brought up to 2018. I would definitly stay again.
Televisions are the old tube type. I had to work on the remote control to get it working. The room was cold even with the local Air unit OFF. The toilet did not flush properly. The shower water was not hot, barely warm. No coffee or coffee maker in the room. Noisy all night long from outside the room. Breakfast options were not impressive. The bed pillows were very uncomfortable.
The desk clerks made you feel most welcome and they were helpful, giving information about nearby restaurants and how to find attractions in Romney. They made staying at South Branch In a pleasant experience.
We had a nice stay at South Branch. Everything was clean and nice. Wish it were a little cheaper. We stayed three nights and it was $346.08. I think you would have more people staying there if it didn't cost as much. We plan to come often, but next time I think we will stay down the road at another hotel. Wish you were cheaper.
