Moved us to a sister hotel

We booked this hotel nearly a year ago but when we arrived they said that they only had one room available which wasn't very nice so would we like an "upgrade" to their sister hotel. We looked at both rooms and decided to stay in the sister hotel which was OK. I think this is a ploy that they use on a regular basis.

It was a nice hotel. It was a little cramped and far away from the metro station and restaurants, so you have to do a little walking. The staff was very nice and helpful. The morning clerk who is from Sri Lanka was extremely helpful.

Fine hotel - Check it out !

Quaint hotel decorated in early 1800s (?) style. Smart/clean/decent location/helpful staff. Not cheap, but well worth a stay. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Goed hotel, rustige ligging in drukke stad

In plaats van in Hotel Aventino kregen we 3 dagen voor vertrek de mededeling dat wegens technische problemen wij in een ander hotel geplaatst zouden worden. Ons werd Hotel San Pio in dezelfde wijk Aventino aangeboden. Een prima hotel maar met vriendelijk personeel en zeer goed ontbijt. Alleen vonden wij de kamer en het sanitair enigszins gedateerd. Het bed was overigens zeer goed.

Walking distant to the Coliseum

Very quaint hotel in a quiet neighborhood, close to the Coliseum. The person that checked us in could not have been nicer. He arranged to have a local taxi driver help us return a car to the airport, offered to arrange a tour, suggested a super restaurant for dinner and gave us directions for how to spend our afternoon in Rome. The room was comfortable and breakfast was plentiful with options for everyone in our party.

Too bad we had no chance to experience it

They never took us in, had an excuse about pipes, true or not I do not know. Because I booked only for 1 night, maybe they didn't want to bather with us, I have no clue and no way to verify. Rick Steve recommend them, but he shouldn't. They walked us in much cheaper hotel Re Testa, we survived but we never do that again. Women at the desk had no patience for us. If u r booking Re Testa don't ask many questions at the desk, she gets very short with you, it was not nice area around and it was very strange hotel. We had booked a cruise from Rome. Before cruise we stayed in Albergo Del Santiago hotel for 2 days near Pantheon, that's the place to stay! Classy place. Good service, great rooms, great people. I would stay in this one any time I am in Rome. Aventino it's another case. Seems nice area but we had no chance to experience that. I plan everything ahead, this hotel suppose to be close to Colosseum and we had tour to do, when they moved us, we were farther away. I say you live you learn. It could of been great experience with them, but it never happened. I can't recommend them. But by appearance it was ok, but Albergo Del Santiago is the place to stay. Nearby many streets full of restaurants and shops. On the roof great bar to relax with great Chianti and a view. But best part people are so helpful and caring all the time and very professional. Rooms very outstanding!

Nice hotel in a quiet are of Rome.

On arrival at the Aventino we were told that there was a problem with our room so we had been upgraded to their sister hotel, Villa San Pio which was just a short distance downhill. We found the hotel very nice, the staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, very ornate and Italian. We had specified single beds but they were two singles pushed together to make a double. The towels and bedding were changed daily. The breakfast was plentiful and very nice. The hotel grounds were very pretty. This was a lovely hotel away from the manic traffic of Rome. A real oasis.

Nice Cosy hotel

The room looked nice and cozy but was a little small. The bed was huge and really comfortable. Pity, The rooms are not soundproofed. The hotel location is ideal as it is closed to many sites. The metro is about 10-15 min walk. You can take the metro at circus Maximo or pyramide.

Beautiful and tranquil hotel

Very pretty hotel and very well run, Slightly out of the way from the centre of Rome but that does keep it peaceful. Room was very nice and spacious. Rustic/classiic without looking tired. Takes about 20 mins walk to get in to the heart of Rome.

Elegante, storico, pulitissim. Staff preparato cordiale e competente. Camera confortevole arredata con mobili d'epoca di gusto e stle, bel letto grande e comodo. Molto apprezzabile il bagno è le dotazioni in asciugamani doppi di cui alcuni in cotone.la posizione Dell hotel è ottima vicina al Colosseo e in bellissimo quartiere tranquillo e signorile. Abbiamo alloggiato in camera al primo piano.

A tranquil getaway

A peaceful location away from the city centre rush, but within walking distance (30mins). Beautiful gardens and view located just around the corner. With the experience enhanced by brilliant staff, both helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back.

Nice Hotel,well worth it.

Overall a very nice hotel with a good atmosphere in a quiet location.The staff were friendly and helpful,particularly the young girl concierge(forget her name). The breakfast lady and cleaners were always happy, smiling and willing to help.The garden was nice to sit in of an evening.Room had everything required and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was perfectly adequate although maybe a choice of cold meats and cheese might be a possibility. Lovely location but if you want public transport be prepared for a bit of a hike uphill on your return. If that's not a problem then metro and trams are a ten minute walk away.In the immediate vicinity there are no coffee bars, trattoria or shops- see above comments for those.

Superb Aventine Hideaway.

Beautiful elegant hotel. Super friendly staff. Very happy with this choice. Great Base for sight seeing. Close to all historic attractions and shopping.

Un cadre magnifique tout près du Colisée

Très bon hôtel, chambre confortable, cadre magnifique (et silencieux) personnel très sympathique, bon empalement, seul le petit déjeuner n'est pas à la hauteur (même s'il est tout à fait correct). Très bon choix!

Hotel charmoso em região tranquila.

Estou satisfeita com a minha estadia neste hotel. A localização é muito boa, fica a uns 15 minutos do centro histórico de Roma. As instalações são muito agradáveis e modernas. A comida servida no café da manhã é excelente. A equipe é muito atenciosa e gentil, os quartos também são bons, espaçosos e confortáveis. O hotel oferece ainda estacionamento gratuito para os hóspedes, o que é maravilhoso ! Não tenho nada para reclamar deste hotel, estou muito feliz.

Petit hôtel de caractère, situé dans un quartier résidentiel sur la colline de l'Aventin, à 20 minutes à pied du centre antique et à 15 minutes du métro et des bus/tram.

Gezellig hotel dicht bij highlights van Rome,

Hartelijk personeel, maken het graag naar je zin, zeer schone kamer, bed en badkamer Heel gezellig terrasje. Hotel ligt gunstig tov openbaar vervoer, highlights van Rome, gezellig autentiek plein met smakelijke restaurant( bediening is vaak lomp en onpersoonlijk) .
