The Bell & Crown

"My partner and me stayed during the first horrible heatwave in June, to get some respite in the AC that was featured in the amenities of the property. Not only was there AC in the room, but also in the pub/restaurant area! It was absolutely delightful - we struggled leaving! The staff were so friendly and attentive; nothing was too much trouble. We were given a flask of fresh milk to have with tea/coffee in the room, and some freshly baked cookies. I couldn’t get the shower to cool down, this may have been user error, but nothing I did seemed to make the water colder than scorching. There was also no place in the bathroom to hang the hand towel, so it had to sit beside the sink. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was super clean and well furnished. Breakfast included the next morning was a great start to the day, with a great selection of continental and hot. I wish they had an eggs royale option, as this would have been the perfect breakky for me. The full english sufficed however, and everything tasted fresh and well cooked. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here at the Bell and Crown, and are keen to pay them another visit."

"The place is clean and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, All the comforts are there , Two bathrooms , shower, hot water, air con, kitchen , plenty of comfortable sofa and armchairs. three tables with chairs to eat inside on the deck and in the garden. good outdoor pizza oven to make amazing pizzas and a gas BBQ is also available . Access to nice walks. Beautiful view of the night sky , it is worth bringing a portable telescope if you like star gazing."

"Our first time staying here, though had stayed next door, in Singletree Cottage, earlier in year. Location great, ideal for a nice relaxing time. Enclosed area for dogs to play in a real bonus. Cottage had plenty of room for the two of us, though would easily accommodate a family of four. Plenty of places to visit in the area, Dorset Coast is a must visit! Trisha is a fab host, leaves you to get on with things, but there for a nice chat when required. Would definitely recommend, and will be visiting again."

"Cottage clean and tidy on arrival, with milk, eggs, and even Easter eggs left for us! The cottage was as described, lovely little place, good sized bathroom, and bedroom, and combined lounge/kitchen area. Dog towels and treats were supplied by our host, Trisha, who was most helpful and friendly, and there was an enclosed area for exercising dogs, which was very useful. Plenty of places of interest to visit within reasonable driving distance, and Mere village centre, which we walked to, had a good few pubs and cafes. Overall a fab place for a peaceful getaway, especially for folk with dogs. "
