"The accessible twin room was perfect for travelling with my Mum who has limited mobility. It was the first (only?) room on the ground floor. It was spacious and good to have rails by the walk-in shower and toilet. Although my Mum uses a walking stick and not a wheelchair we could see it being perfect for someone who does. We liked the little table and chairs, The hotel is within a short walk from restaurants and shops. The staff on reception were friendly."

"I booked this hotel based on the great reviews and, for the most part, they were accurate. Unfortunately, one fairly fundamental issue seriously affected my stay: the shower was stone cold. I waited patiently for the water to heat up, but eventually had to give up. I literally could not have a shower. By that point, I had wasted so much time waiting that I had to rush to make my pre-booked taxi, so I had no opportunity to raise it with reception before leaving. The room itself was basic,...

"The purple turtle pub outside our room made an incredible racket until all hours of the morning every night. As we used the location as a hub to drive from, it was very conveniently located, though the on site parking very tricky, given the requirement for a bus lane permit. Unfortunately costing us one fine before getting right. The hosts were lovely and the rooms well presented."

"It’s an average hotel that does the job. Having to request and wait for an iron and ironing board doesn’t feel very “4 star”. Decent location for what I needed though and usually a decent rate compared with some other hotels in Reading city centre."

"No restaurant, only hand soap, hard bed , no ac, the people at the desk were nice, but they left the property..they told us to leave the key in a drawer if no one was around. We were in an airport related jam and this popped up as an “option”. Nope. Research the neighborhood, because we were stranded, we also had to walk to find food or something. Again all nope. Deliverance."

I have stayed in this room 3 times now and have had something breath in my ear as I lay in bed wide awake, I had something invisible walk up to me quickly as I could hear the heavy footsteps and i turned around and nothing was there and I heard a short groan which was definitely from inside the room. Apart from that I had a lovely stay."
