"Very comfortable"

"This was a lovely quiet location which was very relaxing. The property we stayed in was lovely,my only disappointment was the bed was uncomfortable and both pillows were really flat. This however would not put us off staying again,we would just bring along our own pillows,and although the bed wasn’t very comfy,we could cope with this just for one night. Other than this ,we enjoyed our stay,and would definately return ."

"This is the first negative review I've ever had to give. We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb) We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. On the first night it was still on at 10.45pm and we had to ask Reception to deal with it and then it was back on, waking us up at 7pm. Whilst we understand the extractor has to be in use, this has ruined our relaxing break. We could not have a lie in or return to our...

"I was surprised to find out that you had to pay £5per day for using there car park even if you were staying or visiting hotel also the room don’t have usb sockets in the room so make sure you bring a plug. I am a diabetic and needed to keep injection in a fridge over the weekend guess what? No fridge in the room, you only get two English tea bags in the room and enough milk in the room for two cups of tea the room, the second day we got more milk but no more tea bags, for the price you pay for...

"Parking was easy not so sure about secure. It is pet friendly but there is nowhere closeby where you could let the dog off as the garden opens on to the main road. Didn't see any staff apart from the manager when we arrived and that was a total fluke. the room was riddled with ants they were everywhere, i even landed up bringing some home with me. The pedal bin had'nt been washed out."

"The room and grounds are both excellent with very friendly staff. The location is easy to find but close to a moderately busy road. The outdoor spaces are fantastic with things for young and young at heart. We enjoyed walking down to the river and Houghton Mill for a tranquil picnic. The breakfast was delicious."

"Stayed here several times over the years. Staff are lovely. Room clean and very very basic. The mattress was awful: obviously well past it's due date for a replacement (I barely slept) Breakfast is either toast/jam or cereal. OK for a one night stay, which I do when visiting friends."

"Lovely old historic Inn. Rooms traditionally furnished and had some nice welcoming touches. Bar was very cozy. Staff very welcoming. Breakfast freshly cooked. No lift but staff kindly helped us to the top floor with our bags. Our daughter stayed in a ground floor garden room overlooking the beer garden which was also very nicely furnished. Menu looked great but we ate in the Indian restaurant directly opposite which was also excellent. Will stay here again when passing through."

"Was disappointed, I have mobility problems & lift going down was not working. Beds didn't get made so tea, coffee etc didnt get topped up. No instructions how heating worked, no fire exit instructions. Corridors didn't get hoovered. Needs good refurbishment. Plenty of parking so not a problem. "
