The location, the amenities, the staff! We loved it all. We took our 1 year old and it was perfect. The pool was lovely and newly renovated and looked after. walking distance to so many good spots and right on the beat swimming spot at the lagoon. Rooms are a little run down but kept cleans and tidy and we honestly loved our stay there.
We had an amazing stay in our 3 bedroom villa. Its homely and everything we needed. The neighborhood dogs looked after us. The pool was great. Walking distances to night market and lots of resorts around to go for a drink. Wifi was a bit here or there at the villa but excellent closer to the pool. Wendy was amazing.. let us move into another villa for our late flight checkout. Cant say enough she was super lively and we appreciated everything she did for us. Ill be back!

Budget accomodation with amazing views. Reasonably private and self contained with everything you need. Aircon was a nice touch. Location was great as you can walk right out the front to lagoon. Would stay again.
Value for money and well located for sure. Unfortunately there was no snorkel masks or flippers and swimming gear though advertised was mostly rubbish and should be binned. Cleaner eventually brought 2 masks around but only one didn’t leak. Only one single kayak for entire complex. Overall I would stay again, but would bring my own snorkel gear.
Nil staff/reception
Poor condition
Only redeeming feature if brilliant view and position on lagoon

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The property is very tired and run down, pool looked awesome but had signs saying stay off the deck. We had linen, plenty of towels and kitchen essentials which was handy. Really handy to Muri and all the restaurants.
Would need some serious work before I returned.
The place is reasonably priced, but you can't trust the photos. We booked it based on the location (which is great), the pool, sun loungers, kayaks and view.
When we were there in Sept the pool was out of action, and there was only one sun lounger and one kayak. The view from our lagoon view unit was obstructed by a shed, which often smelt like sewage, making sitting on the deck unpleasant.
The unit itself was a bit run down, but was clean with plenty of towels and loo paper - which was good because it wasn't serviced during our 5 night stay.
We applied for a partial refund through hotels.com given the lack of pool, sun loungers, and kayaks but were declined. We wouldn't have stayed if it wasn't for the outdoor photos in the listing so just wanted to warn everyone else.
Muri Beach itself was wonderful. The snorkeling was good, the beach was great for walking. There were great places to eat, the food market was wonderful. The bus was easily accessed and cheap to ride. The accomodations left us feeling unsatisfied. We chose this place because of the amenities. However, the place itself lacked comfy sitting in the living area, broken pool chairs and deck chair They offered a lagoon view but cabin #2 which we were in had the pool pump shed in front of us which gave a limited view of the lagoon. We would have bbq'd but there was no fuel. You could not sit on the porch in the afternoon as there was no shade, a table umberella would have been usfeul. A few fixes and this place would be great. It's just tired...
The Manea group of houses and cabins is down a driveway (shared with "The Flametree") off the main road so quiet and private. An older style of cabin (no. 5) set back a little from the sea front, with a large d'stairs room with an en suite bathroom, 2 king size beds, cooling fans and plenty of room; and two upstairs rooms, one with aircon and their own bathroom (therefore beds for a total of 8 people/4 couples). The kitchen was well set up with fridge, large stove and a microwave. The large sheltered deck was great to sit out on with 2 or 3 tables and easy chairs. I recommend you buy duty free at the airport (about $NZ30/litre of spirits Nov. 2024). Plenty of parking space. Just opposite and 50 metres away is "My Cousin's place" which serves excellent coffee and fresh made muesli and fruit breakfasts - highly recommended. On the main road and 200 metres away are a small convenience store and a smoothy shop. Many other shops and the night market are well within walking distance. Manea has a pool beside the lagoon and a selection of sit-on kayaks for general use.
We found it difficult to contact the manager when needed as her phone number seems to be the public phone on the outside office wall, but Wendy is on site most days and she is very helpful and friendly.
The resident dog, Jane, is a lovely old girl who appreciates a pat whenever you feel inclined and she acts as a sentry when you are out.
Not a flash marble-floored apartment but very good value accommodation!

Great affordable, no frills, self contained option. Incredible location, lagoon and pool basically on your doorstep, plus easy to walk to shops and food options. Super lovely staff available if you need them and service includes wifi and filtered water. Just make sure the AC works when you check in! Will be back xx

We were all very happy with the accommodation, it was perfect for a family of 7. A little rundown but it made it made for a great Raro experience. Lots of room, great location, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms with toilets in each. Wendy our property manager was extremely helpful and accommodating. We had the use of a small pool beach side and a kayak. We would 100% go back!
Absolutely loved our stay. Sure it’s not 5 star accommodation, but doesn’t claim to be. But absolutely 5 star for location. It was our home for 8 nights and was just awesome.
Wendy, our host is absolutely lovely too.
Very yummy Asian & Mexican restaurants just down the driveway and Muri night markets for food options if you don’t want to go far.
We will definitely pick this place to come back and stay.
We loved our stay at Manea. The bungalow was really clean and by the lagoon. Wendy is very friendly and very hospitable, she has always made sure we had everything we needed and was kind to let us do an early check-in and late check out due to a time mistake with our flight. We will recommend Manea, especially for independent travelers and the ones who would like a self-contained accommodation for a reasonable price.
