"Everything was excellent at the resort"

"The SLS Playa Mujeres is a stunning, new resort with beautiful rooms and consistently friendly staff. A major highlight is the ability to order food and snacks directly to the pool, eliminating the need to wait in lines. Free room service is incredibly convenient, especially for "nap-trapped" parents or late-night cravings. The concierge service was excellent, always promptly delivering requests (tip: ask for robes and slippers!). The food quality is consistently good, easily an 8/10, and the beach boasts clean, soft sand. The resort's smaller size is a big plus; it's easily navigable with pools, the beach, and restaurants all conveniently located close to one another. The kids pool are is great for babies and small children alike. Small con: no swim up bar in main pool However, the resort's handling of dinner reservations was a significant drawback. A la carte restaurants require reservations (there's no dinner buffet), and the system is severely disorganized. Immediate booking upon arrival is essential due to limited availability, especially for larger groups. Despite being promised seating together, our group was frequently separated, sometimes even placed on opposite sides of the same restaurant. This was particularly frustrating at the Mexican restaurant, where visible empty tables suggested more flexible seating was possible. Even after complaining and clarifying, our group, celebrating two birthdays during our seven-day stay, was only able to sit together once."

"My wife and I spent five glorious days at this all inclusive, adults only resort. The treatment we received was unlike anything we experienced before. Simply put, the staff at this resort is amazing. Add to it the pristine beach, the excellent food and the Casitas with private pool, we place this resort at the top of our list, and look forward to a return visit."

"Honestly was just here to attend a wedding. All food was disgusting not edible…. Pools were dirty and hot and half the staff were rude especially hosts at restaurants. This place is a joke. The resort is big and nice but everyday half the restaurants were closed and the ones that were opened were to busy and you have to wait everyday. If you are not preferred you can’t go to certain restaurants and bars . Also Expedia said there’s a resort credit of like $250 ….. that’s not true it’s a scam they break them down $5 a piece and you can only use it for the spa so you have to spend hundreds to get 5 or 10 off. The place was an actual joke. Had to order dominoes twice and leave the resort 3 times to eat dinner because it’s so nasty and unorganized. My family hated our trip. Spent over 8k on 5 nights is crazy."

"The resort was spectacular!! The staff was great friendly and very well ran, they covered everything that we needed during our stay, I highly recommend Gaucho for dinner or meals the chef Marcos was amazing!!! Treated us like a family member!"

"Went in May 2026 and was impressed with the hotel appearance but you learn things after the fact. A few reasons I will not return: you have to reserve dinner times on their app(max 2 days in advance), problem is between 6-9pm they are booked up by the members who have first priority. The restaurants are slow to serve food so you will be there over 2 hours. Restaurants: Steakhouse 9/10, Seafood 8/10, Mediterranean 8/10, Italian 5/10, Japanese 5/10, breakfast / lunch buffet 6/10. Went to Isla Mujeres for Mexican food so can’t rate theirs. Inconsistent food, one day lobster overcooked next visit is raw in the middle. Steak medium (their term for medium rare) sometimes perfect, sometimes raw chewy. They just can’t cook broccoli through unless asked several times. Buffet serves Turkey ham from a can, breakfast sausage has no flavor, French toast/pancakes, waffles are bland. Grand Palace/Hard Rock Punta Cana/ Xcaret Arte have just as good or better food. Sushi is sliced very thin like paper. I had to order 8 orders of tuna to get a normal portion (service was slow). Chewy rice with sushi rolls. Italian desserts are bland. The coffee shops have good coffee, the restaurants not. The fish is very good at most all places (grouper, sea bass, salmon, tuna) and room service food is good although sometimes orders get mixed up(order 2 plates get 1 or order 3 eggs get 2). Sauces are hit and miss. Most all cocktails are excellent if you keep an eye out and confirm they are using top shelf"
