"Bare with me, this may start off poorly, but it gets better.
Initially, when we arrived at the property, we felt disappointed. The outside of the property looks really run-down. Scaffolding, dirty white paint. Just tired and old. Like a neglected school.
However, once inside things improve, massively. I found it warm and inviting. Staff are friendly and helpful. Everything looks in a good statenof repair etc.
The room we stayed in was large with a lovely bath and a sea view. Bed was overly firm, but everything else was lovely. No snacks in the room, there was cold milk and water in the fridge.
The bar area is nice. Lots of seating, free pool table, good selection of drinks and an outside area.
The spa was lovely (have to book between 10am and 6pm) with large hot tub, seating, sauna, steam room and a hammam (recommend). Decent size swimming pool also available.
Good location for the coast path, Mawgan Porth is lovely, though not much in the way of shops.
Continental breakfast was epically good. Lots of choice, amazing baked goods, made on site and good coffee. If you want a cooked breakfast as well, its £8. Didn't have myself, but looked amazing.
Did eat in what i think is The Wild Café. Prices are not cheap, but i suppose thats pretty standard for a hotel restaurant. Burger and chips is £24, as is wild mushroom risotto. We had a croque monsieur and a side of fries, which came to £18 each. delicious, lots of filling and great chips.
I can't say more as I've run ou"
"We checked in to the hotel and were taken to our room, the stairs up to the room were filthy with stains and marks all over. We arrived at our room and the member of staff read out the code for our room out loud in the corridor, so anyone that overheard could have had access to our room. We stayed for about 5 minutes before checking straight back out again, as the room was beyond filthy. There were bits of dirt all over the carpet, and the teaspoon that had been left on the side for us to use for tea/coffee had a dried coffee stain on it, so obviously hadn’t been changed over since the last guests.
We booked the room because it was cheap and in a good location, and the reviews seemed good. However, the hotel is awful and I wouldn’t recommend anyone stays here the lack of cleanliness is beyond belief.
Avoid this hotel and don’t be fooled by the positive reviews. "
"It was a little disappointing that there were no tissues in the room or bathroom. On Friday night we sat in the restaurant but on Saturday night we were put in the Tea Room which we felt there was a lack of atmosphere.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful."
"The accommodation was lovey it was spotless and had everything we needed , we had a three bedroom three bathroom barn.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restrauant was nice and the food we had was lovely."
"The guy who worked at reception was excellent. He was very friendly and helpful.
We arrived late around 8pm. When we booked in there was no parking left to use.
The guy at reception said no problem you can use my parking space around the back, he said there was room for us and guided us around.
He then waited at the back door and let us in to save us walking around to the front of this large hotel.
Excellent service from a great and friendly guy.
The hotel itself is very tired and run down. Our room was clean so we were not that bothered by it.
It was very cheap for the night so bear that in mind you get what you pay for. If you’re easy going like us you wont care.
We enjoyed our stay which was made better by the efforts of the friendly guy at reception."
