convenient and clean

never fixed the balcony lock which was supposed to be mandatory for safety meal orders were not followed on four separate occasions room comfortable and kept clean pleasant and helpful staff

Went to check in prepared with confirmation number and booking email but front office staff were clueless, said there was no booking, had no idea about Wotif. Took 20 minutes for them to find a senior manager and be directed to get a room prepared. Once in the room, the facilities were fine and the room was quite reasonable but front office staff need a lot of training, especially given the competitive market for accommodation in Moresby these days.

I hadn't stayed here before but decided to give it a try. It's generally a nice facility but has more potential. The balcony seeemd a bit pointless with no furniture and a view only out onto a schoolyard. The gym is part of the country club that shares the compound and looked to be a good one. I was happy to see a ramp to reach the lobby, but rooms on the upper floor require hauling luggage up and down stairs. The staff were very friendly and generally helpful, The biggest annoyance was the need to order breakfast from a (limited) menu during the week, which slowed things down a good bit. That said, the Mee Goreng was really good and filling. The restaurant feels like an afterthought -- other than the tables and chairs, there's not really anything that sets it apart from the rest of the lobby. The free shuttle to Vision City was handy and punctual.

Little known Gem in Port Moresby.

The Laguna Hotel is a good value hotel conveniently located to the Commercial district of Gordons and Vision City shopping centre. Airport transfers are offered in a near new and well maintained van. The restaurant is OK, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the Gym (part of the associated "Country Club") is the best I have seen in any hotel. Security is excellent, and the staff are very friendly and capable. WiFi is free, but in some rooms the signal is poor. Luckily, the public areas, especially around the main pool, usually has a good signal. I have stayed here a few times now, and have always the same good quality experience.

Reasonable place, excellent staff

Airport transfers worked really well but check in a bit clunky as couldn’t find my reservation. Staff were excellent though - they moved me to another room when I complained about the WiFi. Concierge service also went the extra mile. Food in restaurant was excellent, plenty of choice and good quality. Rooms were huge and bed comfortable- slept 10 hours straight through

Too far from City meaning lots of Taxis which puts the cost of staying at the hotel at a higher rate than it's worth. They could arrange a free drop-off and pick-up point in the city at regular stated times, say every 2 or 3 hours. It doesn't need to be every hour.

Disappointing Stay

The issues started the moment we arrived. They had the wrong room type and they tried to put us in a room which was different from the one we had paid for. When we arrived to our room they had put in a spare bed that we did not request. This spare mattress smelt like a mixture of damp and mould, it then stunk up the whole room and we had to get the lady to remove it. There were no toiletries apart from a bottle of shampoo. We booked the room for 2 people, yet there was only one packet of coffee and 4 sugars and no milk. The glasses in the bathroom were dusty and had rings on the plate it was placed on. You could tell it had not been cleaned for a while. We wanted to go out for a swim and the pool was not clean, there were no ashtrays around or a nice relaxing place to just sit and have a smoke, apart from standing around the rubbish bins. The food could have been better also. For such an expensive price you would think that the food would be great, yet it was a huge let down. Some were uncooked, overcooked and just no flavor. The place looked amazing, but that was just it. Sounded nice, looked nice, BUT WAS FAR FROM NICE.

great hotel to be in PNG - Port Moresby -. They've to improve the service, we needed to change the room 2 o 3 times for difference issues (air conditioned, hot water, etc..)

Comfort in lush, practical and safe setting

Always relaxed to arrive and be taken care of, from the concierge to housekeeping and room service. The prawn cocktail excelled, the pool was wonderful and the room comfortable, especially the king size bed, with its mattress and pillows. Good free Wifi and TV. Free shuttle to/from airport and Vision City Mall nearby. Reception arranged other transportation to other sites. This time stayed 8 nights and looking forward to the next stay soon.
