"We arrived with a confirmed booking (2 rooms) at almost midnight, only to be told at reception they were fully booked. No further explanation or assistance in helping us get alternative accommodation, so we were stranded in Edinburgh with nowhere to stay.
Ended up having to return to the airport and waituntil 8am for a flight home.
In the time we were there, we saw this happen to 2 other bookings - told they couldn't accommodate them even though they had a reservation.

"We were upgraded to a larger room and had early check in. The room was really nice, clean, comfy bed, and well laid out. You couldn’t ask for a more ideal location.
One of us fell ill and the concierge team was exceptional - locating a doctor to come to our room, while checking in on us our entire stay. A top notch hotel, with some really cool public spaces and a pretty good bar."

"We traveled to Scotland to experience OLD WORLD charm and history. This hotel was not what we expected. It is totally renovated with new materials. It was very presentable, but the staff was very upper echelon oriented and the vibe was upscale which I tend to avoid. The food taste and quality was not up to the standards they presented. The room had no air conditioning, only heat and it was warm on our visit.
Overall, this hotel was very nice, but not what we were wanting to experience as a...
