I have taken some time to write this review so I could properly consider my feelings.
The property is beautiful in all ways. The location is amazing, our room was spectacular and the public areas are top class.
It is expensive but we consciously made this decision as it was the last leg of a 2 month trip and we wanted to end on a high.
The problem for us was how we enjoyed our time during our stay, which is the reason for our low overall score.
We had the Yoga room, which was like a tree house above the yoga studio.
The room was huge and had a terrace. The problem was that the room was practically unusable for anything other than sleeping. Other reviewers have mentioned the monkeys , we had to keep all windows and doors of the room closed at all times to avoid the raids by the monkeys. We learned this the hard way!
The room had a terrace but the only furniture were 2 sun lounger cushions and an umbrella(that was broken). We did suggest a small table and chairs would be useful. There was no refrigerator in the room which was the first time in 2 months where we didn’t have one. It was also awkward returning to our room and walking through the yoga class
The pool was good but our problem started at 4.30 every afternoon when the preparation for the evening dinner started. We felt that we were being pressured to vacate the loungers , especially when Reserved signs were being placed on every lounger.
Overall it seemed that the external guests were more important than guests.
