"Expedia gives this hotel 3 stars, however the sign outside and other sites give it 2 stars. I would say it’s closer to 2 stars based on the room we stayed in and our overall stay. The decor was dated, the tv didn’t work, the mattress was hard and pillows flat making for an uncomfortable nights sleep. "This hotel is close to the City Centre and has around 5 parking spaces for clients. The staff were very kind and helpful. The property is very old and each room is named after the Cathedral bishops. The room was light and airy with windows that open. We were at the back and there is a public path which was a bit noisy. The rooms are fine but could do with some updating. The breakfast was made to order and hot which cannot be said for more modern hotels in the City."

"The Crown is one of our favourite places to stay. We would never visit England without making a stop for a few days at The Crown in Chiddingfold! The staff are wonderful and welcoming! The rooms are comfortable and historic!"

"Staff were excellent but there was dust in our room and the bathroom was not very clean. A dirty towel had been left outside the door and the hedge adjacent to our room was overgrown and restricted access. Dinner I'm afraid was not good, I ordered a fillet steak and asked for new potatoes as I was on a low fat diet. When it arrived I had new potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms covered in oil and two burnt onion ring! But my husband said his dessert was delicious. Breakfast was help yourself...
