Massive construction- be advised

I knew going in ( via information gathered on another website) that this hotel was under renovations. What became quickly apparent was that the construction is almost at a standstill, and the job site is sloppy/treacheous beyond belief. Its like they ran out of money, and are hoping someday to finish. In the meantime, rooms of varying degree of decay are being rented out. Don't get me wrong, the inside of the room itself is reasonably clean. its the appearance of the hotel that's troubling. Dark rooms as the outside glass is actually plywood in many rooms, and the overall feel is depressing. Honestly, I don't think they should be operating like this, its not fair to folks who are looking for a hotel experience. For me, I needed exactly 8 hrs to sleep somewhere, so this was fine. I will also say it was priced somewhat accordingly. Heat did conk out sometime during the night, so when I got up it was really cold, but by then i just needed to get back on the road.

Our Stay in Oshawa

Due to extensive renovations, the area was not as pleasing as hoped. However, our room was clean. The beds were very comfortable. It was noisy but that settled down.

OMG...do not stay here!

The pictures that are online are misleading and is not what your presented with onsite. I was traveling with my dad who is 87 years old. When we arrived, the building looked abandoned; the exterior is all boarded up, and there is construction material littering the parking lot. The parking lot is not well lit and it made us feel unsecure. Entering the hotel, you notice how dirty and run down the building is. You require a pass card to get into the building but the door was not locked. They have two floors that are in use but no elevator available. Since it was late, we decided to stay until I noticed small black bugs on the pillow and mattress. I immediately went to the reception with photos and cancelled our stay and left the hotel that night.

Under construction. Old Eric is fine but not very clean. First room smelled like a bar,cigarette smoke smell very heavy. Not many choices of breakfast items no fresh fruit and little choice of cold cereal Other room could have cleaner especially the bathroom

Under construction without knowing

The hotel was under construction and we were given no knowledge prior to arriving. Our room was clean and orderly but the rest of the hotel and the amenities were in shambles.

entire facility under construction without Notice

Only advertised Pool under construction - entire facility. I would assume once done it will be nice but until then - pretty bad.

Decent hotel with good pricing.

This hotel is under renovation and it's going to be great when it's done. Price was good considering what other hotels charge in the area. I stayed 2 days and it was quiet. Room was more than suitable. Large tv, mini fridge and coffee maker keurig in room.

Hotel under construction

This should had been shared online, in order to make an informed decision. Bath tub not very clean. The caulking is black in some spots. Major stains on carpet. I strongly believe this place will look fantastic but right now, no. Also the price should have been less than what we paid.

Something out of a horror movie!

Circled around the building three times, looked like an abandoned building. The only indication that it was open was the cars in the parking lot. All the windows were boarded up. We found a sign under a stairwell, for the reception area. Going through the dingy narrow hallway, the first thing that hits you is the smell of stale cigarettes that have saturated into the rugs and wall paper since the 70’s. Get to my room the room is standard cheap motel decor, new smell Mouldly bathroom! Sit down on bed look down on ground see a little blue pill lying there. Breakfast was included, oh joy! Never ever, again!!

Bed bugs

We went to our room and was there for a few min and noticed an infestation of bed bugs! They were the size of lady bugs and everywhere on the bed and in the curtains. The front desk said sorry never gave our money back and tried giving us another room! Worst hotel ever !

$200 dollars for a room that was under construc

Picture on line showed an immaculate shiny new hotel. Sadly it was still under construction and our room was old and shabby. Had stayed there 2 years ago and it was under construction then also, thought they had done upgrades. |Still the same old shabby with stained carpets etc.

Good for overnight stop, despite ongoing makeover

The property is being completely made over and is operating at a minimal level during this period, so no frills. However, it offers decent value. The room was comfortable enough and we slept well. Good for an overnight stop.

Under construction

So pretty much we paid full price for no balcony no pool and nothing else that comes with the room. Everything is completely under construction yet no one told us about it before the stay. Toilets take for ever to flush and if you take a shower longer than 5 mins you’re basically taking a bath, water doesn’t drain at all I would recommend spending another 20 bucks and go somewhere where it isn’t so crap

Met our need/

Hotel check-in was very difficult to find. Under construction and appears it has been that way for an extended period of time. Room was comfortable and clean and the area suited my family as it gave us the rest we needed to continue on with our trip the next day.
