She could tell me the hotel was closed for winter but she had an other hotel in town called Hotel Platani Bolsena. "The address of the hotel was wrong on the Hotels.com web site. After an anxious hour or so our host was kind enough to come and get us, we were on foot walking the Via Francigena and the additional 4 miles back would have been a killer. Our host arranged for a cab the next morning so we were back on schedule. Worth the cab expense to keep on schedule. Wonderful evening meal and a great hotel. I would visit it again."

"What a great find! A beautifully renovated property in a charming area of Umbria. There were many types of rooms to choose from. Our room was spacious and modern yet comfortable. Anna at reception was so friendly and helpful! The buffet breakfast included many choices of pastries, fruit, and hot and cold choices. I highly recommend a stay at the Monteleone!"

"Beds were comfortable. The family stayed in the roomy Bastioni apartment. Breakfast was very good and the staff were patient when we arrived just before serving was supposed to end. The hotel - an old castle —and pool area were lovely. Very friendly staff. "
