  • Eierland Lighthouse on the northern tip of the Texel Island ( Netherland). To get there, take the ferry in Den Helder ( 25€/car). The ferry leaves every hours and the journey takes only 20 minutes. Texel acquired a lighthouse in 1864, following many years of campaigning by Texel civil-law notary Kikkert. The seas around the island were so dangerous that many ships sank before the lighthouse was finally built, as explained in a tiny exhibition in the lighthouse itself. During the Second World War, the lighthouse was the site of a major part of the action of the Georgian Rebellion, or Russian War; in fact, the bullet holes are still visible in the walls of the tower.

We hebben een prettig verblijf gehad. Alles was goed geregeld. Goede bedden, zeer goed ontbijt, goede handdoeken service, schoonmaak. Als je van rust houdt dan is de locatie te gek. Maar wil je meer reuring dan zit je te ver van alles af. Even naar een cafe, bar moet je s avonds echt met de auto of taxi. De bar in hotel sluit al om 23 uur en soms zit er niemand. Maar wij vonden het leuk, gezellig en fijn kunnen fietsen, alle dorpen binnen fietsafstand. TOP!

Pienehkö hotelli aivan meren rannalla, meri dyynin takana. Erittäin ystävällinen henkilökunta, hyvä ravintola ja erinomainen aamiainen, jossa tarjolla paikallisia tuotteita, vasta leivottua leipää ja oikeaa kananmunista tehtyä munakokkelia. Huone siisti ja mukavasti sisustettu. Erittäin hyvä sänky.

Åker gärna tillbaka hit!

Vi är så glada att vi hittade det här stället! Vi älskade allt med det här hotellet. Personalen var otroligt vänlig, rummet otroligt fint, restaurangen hade riktigt god mat och fin inredning, frukosten var superb och läget passade oss perfekt! Vi skulle gärna komma tillbaka hit igen!

Een bijzonder fijn hotel met zeer vriendelijk personeel, ruime kamer, goed bed, heerlijke badkamer en alles leuk en fris gestyled. Het ontbijtbuffet is een feest en het avondeten goed. Eigenlijk had ik maar 1 klacht en dat is dat het er erg gehorig was: zowel het afzuigsysteem in de badkamer maakte (voortdurend) herrie, iedereen die de trap op-en afliep bonkte fors in de kamer en ook stond er een grote machine (?) op de parkeerplaats te loeien, die in de kamer aan de achterkant van het pand te horen was.
