"As I had found that this property was once owned by my 3X great granduncles I was fascinated by the history and walked in their footsteps. As I descended the original, narrow stairs with the low hand rails I imagined the original women in their high button shoes and hoop skirts more gracefully than me maneuvering them daily. It was a pleasant step back in time with it's antique atmosphere and original structure. It was my 48th wedding anniversary and staying at a family home made it even more...

Pool area for families had water slides and a large deck area.
Have an issue with many hotels installing the “ cheap” LOW toliets. Think about your demographics of who is staying at your hotels. It is not children!
This property has a nice breakfast room and the rooms super. Just think that every area of the property needs to be top quality to receive an all 5 star rating.

"The hosts were great. The coffee was waiting for me at 6 am. The breakfast was delicious! I called it biscuits and gravy but it was more like french tost lol we had some great laughs. I will plan another trip here in the future. Downtown Galena is really neat. We checked out some hiking trails and had a blast. "
