"We went with low expectations and weren’t disappointed. True the rooms were tired and the beds were soft but it was reflected in the price. They are slowly refitting with their internal team which makes sense so some rooms may be more expensive than others. It’s in a lovely setting and not far to Stamford where you will find the best Nepalese restaurant outside Nepal"

"a well kept hotel and friendly staff a few little niggly things wrong but not worth mentioning, very busy road outside would not want to have the window open at night, so fortunately it was cooler outside"

"Great little hotel in the centre of Oakham. Warm welcome XX and both breakfast and dinner were great. Car park is a bit small so get there early. Check out time is 10:30. Recommended "

Old White Hart

"This hotel exceeded our expectations. We stayed in The Bede room which was beautiful, cottage style in decor with the bathroom including whirlpool upstairs. We ate in the restaurant on our first night, food was excellent. There is are also great outdoor spaces. Hollie, the owner was the perfect hostess. This a lovely, pretty little village which also has another pub. This too has a restaurant and we ate there our second night; again the food excellent but very different to the Old White Hart. It is nice to have a choice. Thoroughly recommend this hotel, we would definitely return if in the area. You have Rutland water, largest man-made reservoir very close by, nice walks and other things to do."

"Clean, friendly hotel. Breakfast was as advertised and our room was perfect for our needs. Easy to find and free, plentiful parking. Mainly seems to cater for business clientele and does its job well for a very reasonable price."
