"Lovely room, and good food cooked well"

"Een mooie locatie in een historisch pand. Maar kamers zijn modern en comfortabel ingericht. Ruime kamer, voldoende ruimte voor bagage. Nette schone badkamer. Heerlijk a la carte ontbijt. Diner was ook heerlijk. Geen doorsnee pubfood, maar een mooie menukaart. Gezellig dorpsterras buiten. Kamer heeft geen airco, als het erg warm is kan dit een punt van aandacht zijn."

"The staff were extremely helpful when we suffered a bad experience with our food on our first night's stay. Stick to the basic meals on the menu, like the burgers and fish and chips! We booked a bed, breakfast and evening meal deal for 2 nights, to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but, on reflection, should have booked everything separately, because we would be over £100 better off!! Apart from being placed at the worst, and least private, table in the restaurant, we only had a limited menu...

"One night stay. Very friendly staff. Lovely village location with nice view of the Wye valley hillsides. Very reasonable pub standard evening meal, breakfast was spot on. The room was clean and comfortable with all the bits you would expect, kettle with tea and coffee, a nice bottle of sparkling water, TV, good quality soap and shower gel etc. Great value for a very reasonable price. Add in that they served a well kept pint of Tribute Ale."

"Strikingly looking hotel. Unfortunately on entering reception, we were greeted with a dirty carpet, which carries on into the bar area with lots of stains. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs, which I wasn't aware of when I booked. Therefore, in this heatwave, the room was an oven. There was a desk fan - 'thank goodness'. Pleased with the room, the layout and amenities. Curtains need seeing to, useless and need blackouts! All the staff were pleasant and hard working. Did not expect a buffet...

"The carpets in the inn were filthy when walking up to the rooms! The beds were super squeaky and the room got super warm at night. We asked for a fan and were given one that doesn't work. Sleeping was almost impossible for me. The en suite bathroom we had in the double room did not only not have a latch, but the door also somehow swung and was overall very inconvenient - not ideal if you're travelling with someone who's not your partner. "Comfortable and well equipped room with air conditioning a particular benefit during the heat wave! Overall quality of service and food did not match the price level which was expensive for what was provided. In particular the additional charge for certain breakfast items, even though on a bed & breakfast rate was excessive. Service, though, was excellent including finding and keeping items we inadvertently left in the hotel room."

The staff were friendly and the room had some positives, including clean linen, a good-sized TV and convenient parking, but unfortunately the overall experience was very poor. "The room had everything we needed, and we managed to get extra coffee when we required it. The staff were very helpful and made our visit run smoothly. For our stay, the air conditioning in the room was a bonus, as it was during a very hot spell. We didn't watch the TV, but it looked to have everything you might need on there. "The room was fine. Beware of the parking charge which is applied to you if you have booked through Expedia. I personally think it is ridiculous to charge extra for parking at a motorway service station hotel."

"My room was super clean and tidy with everything you may need. All the staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. Private parking just outside my room. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. I ate dinner here which was simply supeb"
