"Wife and I had a short stay before flying out of Gatwick. Front desk staff are very helpful even though we had small issues. Room and bathroom were extremely clean and modern, air-conditioning was nice. The shuttle service to the airport was convenient and the restaurant in the hotel made delicious food 10 out of 10 would recommend."

Also I booked a table at the restaurant months ago for 5pm (I have a little one who normally eats at 4.30pm) to be told the restaurant doesn't even open until 5.30pm and they didn't have my booking. But we did get a table at 5.30. The food was poor, as was the service. The actual hotel room was fine. I thought the bathroom was grubby but it was actually just ring marks and staining in the bathroom. The pillows were way too soft and pushed down flat...

"The main thing wrong with this hotel is the furniture. It’s drab and not in good condition, the table over the mini fridge was tapped up with brown tape, to hold it together. Can’t you just buy a cheap new one? The chair by the bed was badly stained and there was gum in the carpets. In the bathroom the bath was stained and had no plug and no plug in the sink either, so hard to shave. These all make the place feel really unwelcoming. There was also a pleasant smell about the place. When I arrived...

"Very pleasantly surprised this is an absolute gem of a find. Easy access to Brighton by bus or car. Clean and comfortable rooms and great food. I’m a pescatarian so don’t eat meat so they are missing a trick with the Jamaican fayre as Mac & Cheese would have gone down well however great price and warm welcome and will come back again probably before the summer is finished."

We stayed for two nights and the first day we went out we returned to our room not being maid services we were told we had to request it and there is no one to clean our room now. "As another reviewer stated, it's a bit quirky in decor and furnishings. Needs heavier drapes or shades on windows and layout of the family "suite" unusual with access to the tiny loo room and shower through the smaller bedroom, which doesn't have a door. Lovely host, good coffee/tea selection."
