"Hotel is currently undergoing renovation, so no dining options available onsite (which wasn't disclosed on third party website when we booked rooms) and reception area is a mess. The 'to go' takeaway breakfast option is a joke - not worth purchasing as can get better value in supermarket or cafe elsewhere. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. No parking onsite, which is a little inconvenient. However, location is central to castle, shops and many pub options. Once renovated, I think this place would be worth coming back to stay again"

"It’s not the Ritz but the rooms are clean and tidy and the WIFI works. Parking is a 5+minute walk away( wouldn’t want to stay here if it was raining) and you need to rebook the parking. The location is good though, and close to a train station. I never had breakfast nor did I use the bar or other services. Staff were helpful and pleasant too."

"Rooms are spacious. We stayed in a heat wave (2 nights)- we took a fan from home; it was needed as room was very warm and due to size of the room, the one fan supplied wasn't enough. Cooler in open space areas outside! We've stayed before so knew to take an extension lead with us as only plugs one side of the bed and two of us needed to charge watches & phones overnight. Didn't have breakfast this time as wasn't needed but have before and it was good then. Shower was effective and towels were replaced. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were also replenished. I'd stay again, hotel can't control the heat wave so it was on us to do what we could with curtains shut etc.. we made it work with bringing the extra fan so as not to trouble the hotel staff as can imagine fans were all distributed anyway!"

"Fatima on reception was amazing. I’d forgotten my charger and she gave me one. Very helpful with ice, water as it was a very hot day. Fab in room was an added bonus. Breakfast good too hot, plentiful. Only downside is can be seen as a little tired but overall clean and excellent value for money"
