"The carpet was stained, in the rooms and the hallway. Our room needed some tlc.. it needed a paint job, the furniture in the room was old, scratched up and chipped and it smelled musty. However, the staff was very kind and available. We stayed 5 nights and every day had fresh towels, rags, fresh linen and it was vacuumed and the trash taken out. Not a bad price for as long as we stayed and a convenient location to our activities and excursions. It is an old hotel so many updates would do it some good."

"We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Beach Haven Hotel. It’s a quaint, boutique-style property that has so much charm. The pool area is a nice little spot to relax, and you truly cannot beat the location—it is just steps from the beach and right around the corner from all the best shops, restaurants, and nightlife in Pacific Beach. What really made our trip, though, was the incredible service. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond by getting us into our room for an early check-in, which we weren't expecting at all but deeply appreciated. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!"

Motel San Diego - In San Diego (Pacific Beach)

"I would suggest not staying at this hotel if you can help it. The woman at the desk was very friendly and they seem to be keeping the surfaces, sheets, toilet/shower quite clean. However the property is severely run down and in massive need of remodeling/refreshing in every way. The room only had one chair in it and a weird, tall metal bar stool at that. So in the room, you had to be in the bed, basically. The bed was adequate, just a mattress on a platform. There were decent working windows with screens which was a bonus. Everything in the place, walls, tile, moulding, etc…needs to be replaced or heavily refreshed. There was a strangely functioning microwave, a working refrigerator, and a coffee maker that we didn’t try using…and some strange instant coffee packet? So, no amenities. The tv worked fine and was streaming. Ac worked fine. There was a small outside eating area with tables, chairs, bbq,etc all of which were super old, unclean, and they area totally unkempt. On top of all this, the noise from the road is completely overwhelming. I had a white noise machine, the AC on, my own air purifier, and earplugs (my own) and the road noise was still very disturbing. At the least they should supply earplugs to the rooms. It’s very difficult to enter and exit the parking lot onto a busy street and visibility is limited due to fencing from some construction project that takes up the entirety of the center of the property. This motel is a couple steps below a Motel 6."

"The views of the ocean and city were amazing. It was nice to have a kitchen and refrigerator to save money and not eat out all the time. Parking was free, which was also a bonus. The only negative is that it isn't a hotel, it's privately owned. There were no instructions on what to do with trash or what was expected for check out. Anytime you ask the front clerk they were nice but couldn't help. Their response was always, "contact the owner" but since we booked through Orbitz, we didn't have that info. Also, it was nice to have a pool, but it wasnt clearly stated that the pool was a part of the neighboring facility. So you had to leave this building and walk a short block to the pool. Other than that, it was an amazing experience and would definitely come again!"
