"Only stayed one night and only had breakfast which could have been better"

"We stayed for 5 nights. We moved from a standard room at the front corner of the hotel as it was noisy and claustrophobic. The en suite having been built into the corner of the room , so all the other stuff ie chairs table wardrobe were squeezed in. The poolside suite which we were kindly moved to was new, spacious had air con and walk in shower ,……. stunning altogether! Such a difference ! Could not fault it !!! It was so hot when we stayed, so made good use of the outdoor pool. Bar area had carpet that had come apart,… trip hazard! Staff were excellent. Breakfast was lovely except occasionally ran out of certain items. If we are in the area again we would certainly hope to stay again. We enjoyed the vibe of Helmsley altogether."

"What a lovely place to stay. Friendly, accommodating, quiet, comfortable is only the start of the experience. Definitely book for the dinner which is excellent and served in the small but intimate restaurant. Breakfast - really good with locally supplied produce - doesn't get much better. We stayed in the Bothy which was very big and even had a little kitchenette. Proper fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge meant a decent cup of tea could be had watching the rabbits and guinea fowl on the private patio. We would definitely recommend!"

"We had an excellent stay in the hotel right from our arrival staff were able to help and explain about parking etc. We had an absolutely fantastic room 33 with our own outdoor space to enjoy a drink or a coffee / tea in the morning. Large bed was amazing after our day driving and the beautiful roll top bath with plenty of hot water. The restaurant and bar area are friendly spacious with an excellent selection of food options. A fantastic stay we will definitely return to this hotel and have no problem with recommending a stay at this hotel to anyone."

"Warm welcome from staff. Bed had not been made up so lady went and sorted that before she showed us room. Room was spacious and lovely view of castle from window. Plenty of tea making items. Comfortable bed. Only downside was there was no breakfast available at hotel so we had to wait until 9am when a local cafe opened (cafe on the square) to purchase a breakfast. No on site parking but we managed to park for free on side of road behind hotel"
