"A nice space to use as a base for visiting York. A short walk from the city centre - and a stone's throw from a walk along the river - it's a pleasant, comfortable stay. My room was basic but comfortable and had everything I needed. It was also very quiet despite being part of a pub."

Staff were brilliant even down to the housekeeping. Room we had was really lovely, modern and a good size. Lots of space in bathroom and a great shower. Free parking was a real bonus. "I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "
